I hadn't planned on reading 'The Master' this week, but at the end of 'The Warlord Wants Forever' an extended teaser was provided. I usually skip the teasers at the end of my books, but for some reason I decided to give it a go. They weren't kidding when they said it was an "extended" teaser either! Eleven chapters later, I was so engrossed in this story that there was no way I wasn't going to finish it!
This is the second book in 'The Game Maker' series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. This book tells the story of Maxim, a Russian billionaire who likes his women tall, thin, blonde and obedient. You can imagine his surprise when the tall, blonde escort that he ordered ends up being a petite, curvy Latina with plenty of sass.
Cat Marin is trying to outrun her past. She scrapes by, cleaning houses for wealthy clients, in order to stay off the grid. She never stays in one place for too long and never makes attachments that she can't sever.
When Cat thinks that her location has been compromised, she decides to do something drastic to earn some fast cash. She never thought she'd stoop so low, but she needs money desperately to leave town. Cat agrees to take the place of her friend, who is a high-priced call girl, after her friend had an allergic reaction to a Botox injection.
Cat is terrified, but admittedly turned on, by the sexy, giant Russian. She's not what he ordered, but ends up being exactly what he needs. The two begin a contemptuous, erotic relationship that is far more than either of them bargained for.
Along the way, there are several big conflicts for this duo. To say that trust is an issue is a huge understatement. Both of them have secrets that they're holding back. Cat's, in particular, have the power to destroy everything before they even have a chance at happiness.
If you like a high-handed Alpha and a heroine with backbone, I highly recommend this book. It is full of angst, suspense and scorching hot sex. I loved both of these characters and found myself completely lost in this story. It was a fantastic choice for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed this 4th re-read of a smuty/sexy favorite!!

I've got a new book boyfriend and his name is Maksimilian Sevastyan...just saying his name puts me in the mood to read this fabulous book all over again!! Let's call him Maxim for short. He's a mega rich Russian mob boss/ politician and he's just come to Miami to invest in shoreline property. Maxim does not believe in dating or any type of intimacy beyond occasional sex. He has ordered an escort to come to his room for the night. But he gets far more than he can handle.

Damn I love Cat. Did I mention that she is one of my favorite heroines? She takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking'. She sets limits with Maxim and it drives him Mad...with Lust!!
“The moment I saw these pouty nipples, I feared I couldn’t let you go until I’d sucked them.”
“Spread your legs.” When I did, he stared at my pussy. “This is mine now.” He met my gaze, telling me, “I own it. Just as I own you. I’m your master now, Katya.”
Maxim thinks he's the master in this relationship, but Cat held all the power from the time she waltzed into his life. Maxim thinks he is so cleaver when he devises a way that Cat can only received pleasure from him. He makes the mistake of wearing the key around his neck. And I LOVED when Cat asked him how many times did he touch her key during the day? She always kept him guessing and trying!!
“I’ve thought about you ever since you left. Couldn’t concentrate on business, on anything, for two fucking days.”
Cat is also the master of sarcasm!! She will have you laughing out loud!! Gaahh I could quote this entire book...
“I can’t be there until nine, and I can’t stay very long. Not that this is a problem with you.” I laughed. “A nanosecond after you nut, you’ll be wondering what I’m still doing there. I’ll start reaching for my clothes as soon as your balls tighten. It’ll be like a fire drill.”
Jealousy can drive a man insane when he craves you with all his being, but fears that the apple of his eye craves another man. Maxim never won any battles with the green eyed monster, because Cat kept him on a tight leash!!
“You’re doing it even now!” Sevastyan slammed down his glass. “Your eyes go distant whenever you think of him! That drives me insane!”
“I am in no way thinking about a lover.”
“Why should I believe that, or anything you say?” He poured more vodka.
“I suppose you shouldn’t. You have no reason to believe me.”
“Are you being sarcastic? Ridiculing my inability to trust? I didn’t simply wake up one day and decide to be like this. The last time I trusted someone’s word, I was cursed to pay for the rest of my life.”
FANGIRLING!! I absolutely loved these two. They had passion and fire. They fought and f*cked with such intensity that I couldn't get enough. As soon as I finished this book, I dialed it back to page one and started it all over again!!
Ok, so I feel obligated to say that this book has a Lot of sex...But I never got bored or skimmed the love scenes (NOT that I would EVER do that...coughs). So save this one for when you are in the mood for a VERY adult Pretty Woman and you won't be disappointed one bit.
I thought I loved The Professional, but this book just blew that one out of the water!!

Because I'm trying to catch up on a lot of rating and reviewing, my reviews are mostly one liners. But this book deserves at least a five pages essay. At the very least, people.
I didn't like the first book in this series, it just didn't grab me and I couldn't connect to the MCs. When I think I almost didn't pick this one up
Maksimilian Sevastyan is one of my all times favorite heroes. And you should know I'm picky about my heroes.
This is a man that has seen the horrors some humans are capable of, clawed his way out of it and built an empire, with legit business dealing and shady MAFYA shit.
He's in Miami for business and wants to hire an escort to blow some steam, because that's what rich handsome billionaires do in Miami.
Enters Catarina Marín, a first-time escort, economics enthusiast and all around bad-ass woman. She has been hurt by someone that was supposed to love her, lost her life and is now on the run, never staying in one place for too long. Circumstances force her to accept an escort job from the nice woman for whom she cleans (gotta love Botox, people).
Now, Maxim has a taste
✔ Tall
✔ Blonde
✔ Robotic
The woman that shows up at his door is
✔ Petite
✔ Brunette
✔ A spitfire
And what happens next ? A not so happy Maxim.
But he soon changes his mind, and then WHAT HAPPENS ?

One of THE sexiest and most entertaining books I've read in a while!
I really enjoyed the first installment, The Professional , in The Game Maker Series but this one I absolutely LOVED! Not very many authors can get away with 70/30 sex to story ratio but Kresley Cole is The Master. Pun most definitely intended!
I adored both characters!
Cat immediately landed on the'top five of my most favorite heroines ever written' list. She is fun, witty, easy going, comfortable in her sexuality and very, VERY sexy! Effortlessly sexy!
Maxim ... one of THE sexiest male leads ever written. Let's just say he makes me proud to be Russian.
The chemistry, sexual and otherwise, between these two is OFF THE CHARTS!
Considering the book is 400+ pages, I ZOOMED through it ... such an easy and [not to sound like a broken record BUT] extremely entertaining read! Think modern day 'Pretty Woman' only one hundred times sexier!

too many (much?) smut

The Master is improved tremendously for the story which is more consistent and active than The Professional. Maksimilian isn't a tortured hero as Aleksei or Dmitri, he deals with a problem with power and dominant side of him. When Cat walks into his life and screws it up, Maksim acts as if he is a lion annoyed by a lamp. The chemistry in this book explodes like a volcano when they first meet. I can feel the pull between them; Cat is a perfect match for Maksim, no one can be in her shoes and stay calm like her.
“All I can think about is him. His body. It’s like I’m drugged. My brain goes on a loop, replaying things we’ve done, imagining things we’ll do. I walk around in this lust-fueled haze.”
The characters are real and so human. I loved this kind of heroine, like Cat, she never gives up, she fights until she gets what she wants. Maksim doesn't sound too bad like he was in The Professional. He's not a stereotypical person I expected him to be, and I was glad for that.
“This food is one hundred percent not drugged because I couldn't find any drugs.”
Anyway, I had a small problem that I couldn't connect to the main characters until 80% of the book. I didn't know what happened to me then, It was just not right or because of the fact that the happening in the first chapter was unbelievable and too fictional for my taste.
FYI, those love scenes in this book were written very well (they're even better than the first book). Not too rough or unforgiving. They're sweet and kind and relaxing as if you are receiving a foot spa.

Catarina/Cat’s (22) a college student that cleans houses for a living. One of her clients asks her to replace her for an e$cort job because her face is too swollen after her recent Botox injections. Catarina’s (estranged/ahole) husband swindled her from her multi-million dollar property and all the money she inherited. Because she was young and naive, she believed everything her husband said and signed things without reading them. Things happened that forced her to run and change her identity. So when her friend asks her to take her place, she does 😬. And that’s where she meets the delicious, aloof Maxim
Maksimilian Sevastyan/Maxim (31) has hired MANY women before (🙄), but never any quite like Cat. Besides the fact that she’s not tall, slim, and blonde (👏🏻yaaass queen Cat for being a curvy Latina💅), the woman in front of him is FEISTY, constantly surprises him, and says what’s on her mind. If HE thought he had secrets and could remain 🤐, he met his match in Cat.
There were so many things I loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
-Cat’s feistiness- no doormat h here 👏🏻. She’s analytical yet also pretty street smart when it comes to problems she encounters. DUH, she’s on the run from her conniving cheating husband. I was drawn to her from the beginning
-The pleasure she takes- sure, Cat was hired to please Maxim, but she’s not about to just sit back and relax for him. She owns her s€xu@lity and gives ZERO Fs if Maxim’s there or not 💅. She used him just as much as he was trying to use her- which baffled him 😂👏🏻. She’s not TSTL
-Maxim’s OBSESSION- I love an H that is completely transfixed and obsessed with the h, and Maxim’s no exception. This man only wants the h. In fact, if I look up the word “obsessed”, his picture will appear right there along with his gaze fixed on Cat. OWN THAT ISH MAXIM! Don’t be ashamed 💁🏻♀️😈
-the kinkiness- hear👏🏻me👏🏻out. I’m not into BDSM books like I used to be (FSOG era), but dear LORDT and everything that’s HOLY, I did not mind the tidbits we get here 🔥🥵. I did not even mind that he uses smex to get what he wants, and sweet JEEEEZUS, does he get what he wants 💦😈😅. I wasn’t even mad that he used a chastity belt (he made me google the type that he used after I encountered that scene 😅💀), and especially not when he tied her up 😋 or spanked her🤤 or used the wand on her😈. I wanted to read it all 👀🙈. GIVE ME MORE (cue Britney here)
-the smexxy times- let me just leave this right here 🚬💦🥵⚠️😳🔥🔥🔥🔥. There’s a lot of them. It’s all they think about… which adds to the obsession part that I loved. But here’s the thing, they BOTH want it just as much as the other. And he’s so good with reading her body language just like she’s able to read his. Even when they try to deny it, they can’t, and they made me laugh with the push/pull scenes where they tease each other just to get back at each other; since they’re BOTH trying to get the upper hand, they just gave in, and it was DELICIOUS 🤤😉😉😉.
-Praise kink- I find that I like knowing I’ve been a good girl more and more these days 💅😅
-Maxim’s overprotectiveness- he knows something’s up with Cat, even if she won’t tell him, and he’s gonna do what he’s gotta do to protect her, even if it means sequestering her with him for weeks 😅against her will 🤐😳👏🏻😈
-Maxim totally becomes infatuated with Cat first. SWOOOOOON! Plus, he always gets what he wants 😉
-the side characters- I’m excited to read Maxim’s younger brother’s book, but I loved seeing Ivanna and Jessica here (even Natalie- the h from book 1). The bodyguards made me smirk a lot too lol.
-no c@nd@ms- they’re both clean, as they should be 💁🏻♀️
-Cat’s secret identity- she’s not as destitute as she appears, which is pretty refreshing in a plot
What didn’t I like/wanted more of:

Maksimilian Sevastyan/Maxim (31) has hired MANY women before (🙄), but never any quite like Cat. Besides the fact that she’s not tall, slim, and blonde (👏🏻yaaass queen Cat for being a curvy Latina💅), the woman in front of him is FEISTY, constantly surprises him, and says what’s on her mind. If HE thought he had secrets and could remain 🤐, he met his match in Cat.
There were so many things I loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
-Cat’s feistiness- no doormat h here 👏🏻. She’s analytical yet also pretty street smart when it comes to problems she encounters. DUH, she’s on the run from her conniving cheating husband. I was drawn to her from the beginning
-The pleasure she takes- sure, Cat was hired to please Maxim, but she’s not about to just sit back and relax for him. She owns her s€xu@lity and gives ZERO Fs if Maxim’s there or not 💅. She used him just as much as he was trying to use her- which baffled him 😂👏🏻. She’s not TSTL
-Maxim’s OBSESSION- I love an H that is completely transfixed and obsessed with the h, and Maxim’s no exception. This man only wants the h. In fact, if I look up the word “obsessed”, his picture will appear right there along with his gaze fixed on Cat. OWN THAT ISH MAXIM! Don’t be ashamed 💁🏻♀️😈
-the kinkiness- hear👏🏻me👏🏻out. I’m not into BDSM books like I used to be (FSOG era), but dear LORDT and everything that’s HOLY, I did not mind the tidbits we get here 🔥🥵. I did not even mind that he uses smex to get what he wants, and sweet JEEEEZUS, does he get what he wants 💦😈😅. Even when they try to deny it, they can’t, and they made me laugh with the push/pull scenes where they tease each other just to get back at each other; since they’re BOTH trying to get the upper hand, they just gave in, and it was DELICIOUS 🤤😉😉😉.
-Praise kink- I find that I like knowing I’ve been a good girl more and more these days 💅😅
-Maxim’s overprotectiveness- he knows something’s up with Cat, even if she won’t tell him, and he’s gonna do what he’s gotta do to protect her, even if it means sequestering her with him for weeks 😅against her will 🤐😳👏🏻😈
-Maxim totally becomes infatuated with Cat first. SWOOOOOON! Plus, he always gets what he wants 😉
-the side characters- I’m excited to read Maxim’s younger brother’s book, but I loved seeing Ivanna and Jessica here (even Natalie- the h from book 1). The bodyguards made me smirk a lot too lol.
-no c@nd@ms- they’re both clean, as they should be 💁🏻♀️
-Cat’s secret identity- she’s not as destitute as she appears, which is pretty refreshing in a plot

I was looking at my Update Feeds and saw all of my friends hitting like/comment on Deanna <3 Pink Lady<3's Review for The Master. I read the review and was blown away...and intrigued...for it was an ode to the book but also a thank you to Irene Oust for the recommendation. After reading the review, I had to add my two cents; my comment explains how I feel when a rec works:
Since my mom raised no dummies... I went to the book page and proceeded to read all of the reviews of this really intriguing book. What I saw was like a chain letter of Irene sending out all of these recommendations and each and every reader thanking her for the experience. So, fully prepared to see what the deal was... I went, clicked and started the book.
Well, first let me say, I was a virgin reader of Kresley Cole...yup, never had read anything by this author...so had no idea of what was to come...
Well, what was to come was the thorough obsession of all things of the rich, irresistible politician/Mafia boss Maksimilian Sevastyan and feisty, strong, intelligent, secretive and sensual Catarina Marín.
These two characters take over a page with such intensity, it is a wonder any reader can think of anything other than them. I was so committed to this read, my ass stayed in the same chair for hours without me ever feeling discomfort. My mind was focused, my interest kept... I wanted to know what was going to happen next...and I was caught in the lustful haze of the two of them.
Yes, there was a lot of sex. But I will say, I did learn things and positions I had no knowledge of...so it could be used as an instructional manual if need be.... just sayin' ....cough, cough...
But with all of the sexy times, there was heart, care, and a plot. We had reasons why these people were who they were... each one had a back story which more than justified the whys of their actions.
I am not going to continue with more words when there are plenty of them out there by all the other readers who have reviewed this. What I will do is thank the way I found this erotic, smart, explosive gem. I am no longer a Kresley Virgin... and will check out the other book in this series...and await the hard-hitting one to come for Dmitri.

1. good love story,

3. bdsm that does not overpower the story,

8. a feisty strong female character
9. lots of fun,
10. a mixture of three different powerful cultures (American, Cuban and Russian).
I am thrilled with what I have just read!
The second novel in the Game Maker series is about the politician/Mafya boss Maksimilian Sevastyan (the second Sevastyan brother) who prefers his women tall, blond, cold, faceless, obedient and long gone when he finishes with them.
Instead he gets Catarina Marín who is short, exotic, curvy, sassy, rebellious, stubborn and parked in his hotel room willingly by him.
I loved the way Cat makes Maxim's coldness disappear gradually.
I loved how her big secret shakes the know-everything Russian when he least expects it.
I love that he finds his match and he cannot even believe it that this happened to him.
Maxim is definitely one of my top Alpha males and Cat is one of my favourite heroines.
Highly recommended! Read the book!

The Master was one of those books that deeply resonated with me. Everything about the story ignited something powerful inside me. The strong characters, the hilarious and steamy plot and the fact that the story was set in Miami, made this book absolute perfection to me.

In all honesty every single character in this book is fantastic!!!
This book is absolutely magnificent and I can guarantee that anybody who reads it will become as enthralled and addicted as I have.

THE MASTER is a story my very good friend urged me to read FOREVER, finally I did and this just proves I should always trust my friends because this book is EVERYTHING I love about love and romance stories.
The protagonist's, Maksim and Catarina, set the scene with their equally rich histories. A Russian billionaire, who's one of Europe’s most eligible bachelors and a powerful politician, shares the page with a heroine whom finds herself confronted with the gorgeous billionaire as an escort. It's her first time and not exactly what the rich man asked for, and here is where the story eloquently unfolds layer by perfect layer all at exactly the right moments to maintain the reader's high interest and engagement in the story. We learn of their individual pasts, the things that have shaped them, the dangerous reason why she has to live by her self-imposed rules, and the danger that surrounds him.
I highly appreciated the execution of the story. The long listed descriptions made me see with crystal clarity the characters and scenarios. The luscious prose is richly erotic creating extravagantly sexy pictures within the confines of the narrative. The description of the hero's man-area is divine, so detailed, so beautiful and so erotic it took my breath away. There are many, many HOT moments but this never once detracts from the deeply layered, emotional story the protagonists are weaved into. The sex is beautiful, erotic, passionate and essential in the telling and development of THE MASTER which at crucial moments of the story arc depicts understated poignancy.
The dialogue and inner thoughts of Maksim and Catarina are eloquently crafted to shape their fun loving, sexy, all-the-feels, dangerous story to perfection, evoking humour, banter, intelligent bickering, and flirting. The determination in their personalities equals each other. I believed everything they said and did and all the reasons why because the motivation and telling of this story is on point. He experiences emotions he’s never felt before and I believed them all. I warmed to his sincerity and love his self assured confidence.
The vivid telling of this depth ridden, ROMANTIC story with an exquisitely detailed subject matter, erotic prose and complex characters gave me a full-on 5 star read. The climax of this story became very emotional for me which completed my, The Master journey perfectly. Any book that makes me cry and feel the way this story did wins my reading heart forever.

5 Little Witch Meets DDG Stars!!!
This book was fan-freaking-tastic!!! Wow!! My last couple of personal reads have been just ok so I was ready for something to blow me away and THIS totally did just that!!!
It's totally a fun, sexy version of Pretty Woman, Russian mafiya style! From the minute I started reading this book, I found it impossible to put down. Maxim Sevastyan gets what he wants. He's a no nonsense business man, well politician and mobster, who is in town for business. He doesn't do romance and he doesn't do variety. In fact, he is a self-proclaimed hobbyist of female escorts. But when he orders a tall, blond, and obedient bit of company for the night, what he gets is opposite in every way possible.
Cat may just be my new fucking hero and my fave heroine EVER!!! When we meet her, she is about to go on her FIRST gig as an escort, and only because her friend is ill and cannot go herself. She's Latin, curvy, loud mouthed, disobedient, and she has a huge secret. She just needs the cash so she can skip town ASAP.
When these two meet, OMG the sexual chemistry!!! This is my very fave kind of book. These two are a total contradiction in every way possible. They are just as hot when they are NOT going at it, as they are when they actually are. Cat is sassy and witty and refuses to take any bit of Maxim's shit. And Maxim refuses to admit that he loves what this opinionated little escort is dishing out. Their first night, right off the bat, was hot as hell. But, that isn't nearly enough for Maxim.
From there, these two develop quite a love/hate dynamic (and by love, I mean love to hate you, and by hate, I mean love to hate fuck you). This was my first read by Kresley Cole, but I've heard that girlfriend does not skimp on the steam. Well, she certainly did NOT here. These two have this explosive, have to have you right now, chemistry that BURNED up my iPad, BUT that is NOT all that this book was!!!
There were some completely beautiful moments of intimacy and I didn't have to wait long to get them. Their connection was insane!! It's just, with these two, it was a one step forward, two steps back, type of thing. Because, as much as Maxim is captivated by Cat, he hates what she does and who (he thinks) she is, and refuses to believe a word she says. And that is pretty much their relationship for a while, but it was so hot and so fun to read.

The only thing that I would've loved was a little of Maxim's POV. I would've loved to know what he was thinking, especially in the beginning. But otherwise, this book was pretty perfect for me. Even at the end with the mounting conflict, I kept waiting for Cat to turn whiny or for there to be some stupid drama somewhere, but it never happened.
Little by little, page by page, albeit reluctantly, they begin healing and trusting each other... and it was such a beautiful journey to go on with them!!!
And oh those last few chapters!!!! I absolutely loved them!!! I am reading a few new books that just came out next, but then, I am immediately going back to book 1 in the series to read Aleks' story in, The Professional. You don't have to read it to understand and enjoy this book at all, but I just want to now. I want more of this series!!
And, OMG, I really REALLY hope that the next book is Dmitri's!!! Woah! I have a feeling that his story is going to be pretty kick ass!

Cat may just be my new fucking hero and my fave heroine EVER!!! When we meet her, she is about to go on her FIRST gig as an escort, and only because her friend is ill and cannot go herself. She's Latin, curvy, loud mouthed, disobedient, and she has a huge secret. She just needs the cash so she can skip town ASAP.
When these two meet, OMG the sexual chemistry!!! This is my very fave kind of book. These two are a total contradiction in every way possible. They are just as hot when they are NOT going at it, as they are when they actually are. Cat is sassy and witty and refuses to take any bit of Maxim's shit. And Maxim refuses to admit that he loves what this opinionated little escort is dishing out. Their first night, right off the bat, was hot as hell. But, that isn't nearly enough for Maxim.
“I love it when you call me that.” “I’d rather have a mouthful of you than of your name.” He groaned. “I vowed to myself I wouldn’t book you. I told myself there could be no such thing as a body like yours.”
From there, these two develop quite a love/hate dynamic (and by love, I mean love to hate you, and by hate, I mean love to hate fuck you). This was my first read by Kresley Cole, but I've heard that girlfriend does not skimp on the steam. Well, she certainly did NOT here. These two have this explosive, have to have you right now, chemistry that BURNED up my iPad, BUT that is NOT all that this book was!!!
“Máxim, you fuck me . . . better than any man before.” And then he proved it. Even as I buried my mouth against his neck to muffle my screams, I wondered if I could fall in love with someone in one night."
There were some completely beautiful moments of intimacy and I didn't have to wait long to get them. Their connection was insane!! It's just, with these two, it was a one step forward, two steps back, type of thing. Because, as much as Maxim is captivated by Cat, he hates what she does and who (he thinks) she is, and refuses to believe a word she says. And that is pretty much their relationship for a while, but it was so hot and so fun to read.

The only thing that I would've loved was a little of Maxim's POV. I would've loved to know what he was thinking, especially in the beginning. But otherwise, this book was pretty perfect for me. Even at the end with the mounting conflict, I kept waiting for Cat to turn whiny or for there to be some stupid drama somewhere, but it never happened.
Little by little, page by page, albeit reluctantly, they begin healing and trusting each other... and it was such a beautiful journey to go on with them!!!
And oh those last few chapters!!!! I absolutely loved them!!! I am reading a few new books that just came out next, but then, I am immediately going back to book 1 in the series to read Aleks' story in, The Professional. You don't have to read it to understand and enjoy this book at all, but I just want to now. I want more of this series!!
And, OMG, I really REALLY hope that the next book is Dmitri's!!! Woah! I have a feeling that his story is going to be pretty kick ass!

So I discovered Kresley Cole’s AWESOME books on Goodreads when I read some of my friend’s reviews. This is my second book so far and I am hooked. I love her writing, it’s so descriptive without being wordy. Then there is the way she describes things, it’s in such a way that you can truly see and feel for the characters. No joke, I want to read all her book now!
The Master is the second book in this series, but focuses on different characters. It was recommended to me to read them in order and I am glad that I did, you don’t want to miss out on these!
The Master features a Russian billionaire, Maxim, and a girl, Catarina, on the run from her past. She is forced into her escort role out of desperation and Maxim is her first client. I loved their introduction because Maxim is looking for submissive and Catarina isn’t submissive - she doesn’t trust anyone. She also isn’t a professional, so she completely throws him off his game.
Maxim is seriously sexy as sin and the way he opened up about his past warmed my heart. Cat is feisty, brave and comfortable with herself, I admired her so freaking much.
From the beginning this story was perfection, every time I had to stop I couldn’t wait to jump back in. If you are like me and haven’t jumped into the world of Kresley Cole, I definitely recommend it!! Completely sexy and highly entertaining!

After Teri recommended me this novel (thanks so much hon :*) I immediately read the blurb, liked it and got the book. Once I started reading it I could not put it down.
Well...because this book has 4 key ingredients that make a great novel for me.
1. Good writing (most of the books I DNF are because the writing makes me want to claw out my eyes)
2. A strong female heroine...and this book has one of the most strong and brave women I have met in my books.
3. A hot billionaire mafia man...who doesn't like that? :P
4. And last but not least....hot and steamy sex :P
Cat is running away and trying to stay alive. In order to keep doing that she needs money and her job cleaning houses doesn't provide enough. She decides to work as an escort...one time...get the money and get out of town.
What she doesn't count on is actually enjoying that night and the hot but weird guy she discovers.
Maksimilian Sevastyan is hot, rich and has sex only one way and with a certain type of women. He's is in no way prepared for "hurricane Cat" but she is everything he never knew he wanted but definitely needed.
The question is? Can they stay together despite the troubled past they both have and the unconventional way they met?

Nothing better than a story where the hero and heroine are evenly matched, each giving as good as they get, over and over again. The back and forth sparring between Cat and Maxim was fabulous! Plus, there was humor, hot sex, and a dash of angst. I couldn't have asked for more (except maybe for the time needed to write a proper review.)

This book is basically a nice take on Pretty Woman mixed with Sleeping with the Enemy.
Cat Marin is a college girl on the run from her husband and needs quick money to leave to her next town. However one of her friends convinces her to take on one of her escorts appointments when she can't make it. Cat says it's a one-and-done deal for her. However, the client is Maxim, and the chemistry is off the charts from the jump.
The dialogue they have is hot. (Yes, they have it even though they act like rabbits)
“He’s holding me prisoner.” With a permanent marker from the study, I’d drawn five slashes on the mirror above his sink, as though counting down days in prison. Sevastyan had been pissed: “Other women would kill to be in your position!”
The sweetness is hot.
“Tell me you don’t need to be owned.” “As soon as you do. I wore your lock. But you wore my key, didn’t you? How many times today did you touch it?”
The spicy scenes are hot (and yes Neela, actually a little hilarious in hindsight)
Cat = strong, pragmatic, independent
Maixm = possesive, damaged, simp
This one is the only one I would probably recommend in the series with no care in the world. Because logically should it be five stars? Probably not. But it's my favorite.♥️

It’s been 3 years, and she thinks she sees her hub around her town. Since she doesn’t have enough money to run, she takes the place of an escort to earn enough money to leave.
This is how she meets the H. He only does escorts, but she shows up and totally shocks him to lust with her badass feisty self ways.😂

My lovely friend Shilpa recommended this book. This book was pretty addicting, I couldn’t stop reading the second I started. But it was mainly smut, not a lotta story. I liked the characters, the plot is definitely interesting, but the second the smut started, that was the main focus. This is a mafia book but it doesn’t really focus on that but there are scenes that have violence and shit so if you’re not into that, avoid this. I’m also not a huge fan of BDSM and it isn’t heavy compared to other books but it’s there. The FMC is reluctant and continues to refuse and the MMC is like, trust me you’ll like this. They’re practically strangers, and then once she does, she’s into it right away, I dunno, stuff like that annoys me but it’s so common in romance books. I also HATED how he sometimes called her “little girl” like NO BRO HELL NO. The last thing that bothered me was the use of exclamation marks and the writing style? I don’t know why but I can’t take exclamation marks seriously and it was used so often. So I know the other two books are based on the other two brothers, so I recommend reading this in order. You can read this as a standalone, I haven’t read the first book, but it lowkey bothered me since the other brothers appear in this book and their pasts are a bit complicated. Everything is kinda summarized by the other characters but it was so much info-dumping that I just kinda skimmed. Other than that, I really liked the characters. There was a lil grovel in the end and I liked that too.
Cat is in need of quick cash because of something horrible that happened to her. Her friend offers her a job to be an escort for a rich guy that lives in a penthouse. She doesn’t wanna do it but she feels cornered. But Maxim is not what she expected, he’s a very attractive politician, Cat didn’t expect to have sex with an attractive guy. Maxim takes one look at Cat and thinks he has her whole life figured out. But boy was he wrong about her.
I personally really liked Cat, she knew how to talk to Maxim and despite being disrespected, she made sure to call Maxim out. It was really funny seeing her play with Maxim’s emotions especially because he didn’t know why he was reacting the way he did. I adored that Maxim is the type of person who doesn’t like touch but does when Cat touches him. He’s also the one that pushes to have conversations while Cat is like bruh let’s just have sex. It was really refreshing.

Since this book was published back in 2015, i really didnt mind the lack of plot in here bcs i kinda expected it BUT i will say that i enjoyed the writing and i adored the heroine—so hilarious, daring and witty (my kinda gal)
i mean, i dont even think my balls would be as big as hers at the age of 22 lol. The hero was okay for me, i didnt feel any certain pull towards him but hey...tell me you're russian and i'll definitely hop on you

Still a favorite that I love so much I'll probably be rereading this next month again. The verbal sparring between Cat and Maxim was laugh out loud good, their attraction was intoxicating. Maxim has to be one of the most j/p H's I've ever read. Cat is definitely one of my favorite h's ever. Everything worked for me in this very sexy read. All the stars!!!!

Unfortunately I'm in a book slump again, so I'm rereading a very very favorite of mine. To say I've reread this series a lot is an understatement,at this point I probably know this series word for word but reread # eleventybillion begins!
Still a favorite that I love so much I'll probably be rereading this next month again. The verbal sparring between Cat and Maxim was laugh out loud good, their attraction was intoxicating. Maxim has to be one of the most j/p H's I've ever read. Cat is definitely one of my favorite h's ever. Everything worked for me in this very sexy read. All the stars!!!!

they actually had no business being this cute! i tried reading this book a while ago but put it on hold because i wasn’t feeling it, i’m glad i went back and read it now! <3 i’m obsessed with maksim but more so with lucía, i truly loved her character and she deserves the best.
side note: i get that dmitri suffered the most out of his brothers but that doesn’t mean he can’t be happy for them that they moved on from the past… was kinda annoyed how he butchered maksim’s christmas eve and didn’t go to aleks’s wedding. let’s see what he does in his book.

I am going to slow my reading due to injury to my leg.
The Master is full of hot steamy BDSM sex. And that just it. The plot is lost somewhere in that many sex scenes.
It is quite a long book. Miss Cole certainly wanting to put more suspense about Cat's past. Sadly Miss Cole does not hint or implement some clue or suspense through out the story. Just a lot of sex.

The Master by Kresley Cole was freaking awesome. Wow! What a fun and very sexy ride. I absolutely loved and admired Cat. She was the perfect in every sense of the word. Her intellect, brazenness and passion were just some of her wonderful qualities. I connected with her immediately and her first meeting with the Ruso Maxim was so deliciously erotic. Maxim was mysterious and sexy as hell but most of all he was a romantic at heart. He was wonderfully flawed, had experienced abuse and loss. How Cat made him turn towards the light and embrace love was to me the heart of the story.
Their push and pull game and their bantering were just one of the highlights of this extraordinary story. I was warned from some reviews that there would be a lot of sex but it was written so well into the story and the MC's journey that I didn't feel it. No, I enjoyed the hell out of every scene Cat and Maxim shared with one another. Whether they were having sex or not.
A lot of the story took place in Maxim's penthouse and one might think that could turn out boring. Wrong again! The story was so enthralling that I didn't care where Cat and Maxim were, also so many important things happened in his penthouse. Emotionally and sexually.
The ending was dramatic and also exciting. Kresley Cole's prose is addictive and flawless. Her ability to create a strong female lead is what I'm most impressed with. I'm definitely a fan now and ready to meet Aleksandr and Dmitri.

This was pretty disappointing for me. With mafia romances, I have the expectation of a dangerous story with an angsty romance. This was just so boring. Cat is on the run from a dangerous past, which had so much potential to be an engaging and action-packed plot. Instead, that didn't come into play until 90% into the book. The rest of the book was spent on Cat and Maksim's physical relationship and I didn't care. Maksim hires Cat as an escort and is shocked by how much of a connection they have and he's determined to have her. So he does. And that's it. I was so bored. However, the last 20% of this book was actually really good and had me hooked, so that's why this is getting 3 stars and not 2 stars. Overall, though, I was expecting a lot and was mostly bored with the constant steamy scenes with not a whole lot of plot until the end.
Also, the narrator's accents in this audiobook were SO BAD. Our heroine is Cuban and the hero is Russian, yet she had a Russian/Cuban narrator for the heroine that was just so cringey.
