This was so good. The training camp from the previous volume ends in this one and it was just as fun. And the last chapter? It was so adorable and I loved it. It seems we're finally getting somewhere and I can't wait to see what happens next with Nicholas, Seiji, Harvard and Aiden. I love them so much.
I can only repeat what I've said before: wonderful characters and beautiful artwork.
I read this as single issues Fence: Redemption #1-#4.
This made me go beyond feral to complete savage territory!!! A DATE????? The hair! Seiji wearing Nicholas leather jacket??? Also please don’t make me go through the whole Harvard thing again, the novel already broke me. 😭
I'M GONNA BITE SOMEONE! The slowest of burns but something is finally happening and I'm going to SCREAM in agony because we probably have to wait 18 months for the next volume and like 7 years before we get any sort of kiss. Love these dumbasses so so much!
WOGVNEWOIURGBEWIRUBG EN EL PISO CHICOS YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME I'M NOT YOUR STRONGEST SOLDIER.
I was glad to get back to the Fence universe! Love these guys. This is a fairly short volume, only four issues, but this series continues to be one of the best things I've read in ages.
These are so short and I’m gonna have to wait so long for the next one! Gah!! This one was so cute. We are witnessing the blossom of something really beautiful ❤️
If you’ve read this series, you’ll know this is one of the slowest slow burns to ever have burned slow. While I have enjoyed every volume so far, it does get a little frustrating when it feels like not much is progressing. But I guess the anticipation and frustration are part of the fun. I mean is it a really slow burn if you don’t feel slightly tortured at some point?
But things are happening! The burns are picking up speed!
I won’t say what or with who, but things are certainly going places. This is definitely my favorite so far.
Now I just have to wait probably another year for the next volume. I’m fine. It’s fine. I’m fine! I’m… fine.
Seiji is beginning to really know and appreciate Nicholas! I LOVE that he is going to completely fall for him, and respect him professionally, even before knowing who his father and brother are.... Nik is going to make a name for himself without needing that type of connections, that's the whole point of the story!
I wish I knew how long they planned to make the series! Just finished trade volume 5 and I don't want to rush anybody because good work takes time but also I am Suffering.
4.5 stars. Every single time I read a volume of this series I remember why I love it; Fence, Vol 6: Redemption is the premier example of it, with development both in character and art style.
I pre-ordered from Waterstones and it arrived a month early?! Don't ask me how that's possible, but I'm certainly not going to complain :D. This volume wraps up the arc from the last one and I kinda wished I'd reread Vol. 5 in preparation. I was able to follow along, but all the rival fencers were hard to tell apart at times. There are some cute moments in there and it feels like the pace is finally picking up. Now the long wait for the next one begins.
