James and Bianca’s tumultuous story continues in the sequel to In Flight.

James has initiated Bianca into a dark and drugging world of passion and pain. He taught her about her own submissive, masochistic nature, and she fell swiftly and deeply in love with the undeniably charming and impossibly beautiful Mr. Cavendish, but a painful misunderstanding and the return of the brutally violent demon of her past have combined to overwhelm Bianca, and, confused and hurt, she pushes him away.

It’s been over a month since the shocking attack that hospitalized her, and since she told a distraught James that she needed space, but her feelings haven’t gone away. Even she knew that it was only a matter of time before he would cast his spell on her again…

I loved Mile High, the 2nd book in the Up in the Air Series. I am so totally into this series.

It’s heart-wrenching, beautiful, bittersweet and incredible emotional depth. photo 7d5f913245a7408cb8d2c222e59f3580_zpsc9923788.jpgWhat pulls me into the story are the characters – James & Bianca.
Two emotionally and broken people who see something in each other than no other person has.

The sexual chemistry between them is sensual, hot and totally so so sexy.

HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN, SUPERMAN AND OTHER MARVEL COMICS HEROES!!!

The second installment in the "Up In The Air" Trilogy and Bianca and James are BACK setting beds, planes and horses on fire!

description

I LOVE James Cavendish!! There I admit it... He is confident, possesive obsessive, romantic, dominant, beautiful, persistent, knows what he wants and he is set on getting it!! In this book he is grovelling and OH GOD what a grovel.... Irresistable, sexy man....

Bianca Karlsson stays in character. She is afraid of relationships and commitment but the walls around her heart can't resist James' "attacks"...
description

I abso-FREAKING-lutely root for this couple!

They are so baffled of their chemistry, that they are adorable and they can't help but agree that they can't live without each other!
description

This book is more focused on Bianca & James' relationship as they deal with past partners, jealously, paparazzi and escalating feelings, that the threat on Bianca takes the back seat. Only in the last 2 chapters we face it again and the twist was surprising and unexpected!

I really can't wait to read the next book!!!

5 Incredibly Sexy Stars!!!

I love these books! Mile High was even better than In Flight, it didn’t disappoint!

“I want to deserve you, my love.”

“You must know by now that I’ve never done any of this for anyone else. I was a slut once with my body, but I’ve never been a slut with my heart.”

“You’re my angel, Bianca. You’ve exorcized my demons. I don’t have nightmares when I’m with you. I don’t have to work seventy hour work weeks to keep my mind distracted. My life has been more than work and emotionless affairs. You make me a better man.”

I LOVE JAMES CAVENDISH... even more in this book than the last! Not only is he still a hot dominate, he was so swoony in this book! He may have a rocky past, but he is always honest about it and I love him for that. He is alpha sexy, generous, kind and really, could he be anymore perfect?!?!?!

“Meet my future. Her name is Bianca. Come to terms with it. My advice would be to get on her good side.”
Photobucket

Things I want to say about this book: I will never ever think of riding a horse the same way again and James’ ink- wow! I am so glad I only have to wait a month for the third book! So excited!!!

“No one else can do this for you, Bianca. Don’t ever consider it. You were made for me.”
James and Bianca

Some of my new favorite books! If you haven't read these books, you need to! Come on February 12th! We need more James :D

Mile High is Fifty Shades fanfic gone wrong. Let me provide a brief synopsis of this book: Bianca and James have sex. Yep, that’s it. No character development. No storyline. No plot. Just sex – straight up book porn. Which might serve its purpose if it was hot sex, however, sometimes Mile High sex ventured a bit too much into weird territory. Let me explain.

I personally enjoy a good, kinky BDSM book. I loved The Original Sinners series, which has tons of hot, smexy, kinky scenes. However, there is a difference between hot/kinky and just plain weird. In fact, let’s play a game of “Hot or Not” with Mile High:

“We’re going to fuck like animals in the horse stalls, and you’re going to love it” – James
Hot or Not? Not really that hot. Kinda weird.

“I’m going to drink your milk like this when you breastfeed our children” – James
Hot or Not? NOT. WTF.

“I sucked in a breath as he nuzzled into my underarm, licking me there as though it were a rare treat.”
Hot or Not? No. Gross.

Also, the author completely rips off an entire sex scene from Fifty Shades. Remember, the feather/flogging scene in which Christian plays Spem in Alium? (Clearly I do) Yeah, exact same sex scene in this book. James even turns on “soft, dark, ominous” music. Not cool.

Moving on… I liked a couple things about the first book, but these good aspects disappeared in the second. Stephan barely played any part in this book. Where did her father go? Did he just magically disappear? Maintaining that part of the story could have made this book more interesting. The fact that Bianca enjoyed being a submissive was interesting but not explored. About 60% James does explore this by teaching Bianca a lesson (I’m being intentionally vague here so as not to spoil anything). I found this part to be enjoyable, yet short-lived.

Typically, the main character can make or break any book for the reader, which may have also contributed to my distaste. Bianca really started to grate my nerves in the second book. She constantly refused to discuss ANY of her feelings or emotions. I accepted this in the first book but it just became really annoying this time around. James constantly showed how much he cared for her. He created a book shelf in his library just for her, he purchased clothes for her in each of his houses so she would never need to worry, he dedicated an entire room to her so she could paint, he asked her to move in. The list goes on and on. Yet, somehow, she still felt like he only wanted her for sex for a short period. How dense can you be? Seriously. It became ridiculous. Her constant obsession with his past became annoying as well.

This book appeals to one type of person only - someone interested in reading Fifty Shades fanfiction. I have already read Fifty Shades, twice actually, so I would prefer something new and original. I had to DNF this at about 86% in.

★★★★★! Up in the Air series, book 2 of 3. Debut by R.K. Lilley. Intense, epic saga, erotic tale & mesmerizing love story with a larger-than-life James Cavendish & his Bianca!

There are three books in the Up In The Air series, but see below for BONUS chapter links:
Book 1: In Flight
Book 2: Mile High
Book 3: Grounded

James Cavendish and Bianca Karlsson are both beautiful beyond words, but underneath those good looks are two very broken, flawed, lonely and haunted souls. This is the continuation of their saga! If you haven’t read book 1 or any of the 6 prior “James POV’s”, please do so first. Here is the order I recommend:

1. James POV 0.5: http://sinfullysexybooks.blogspot.co....
2. In Flight, book 1, chapter 1 & 2 – stop!
3. James POV 1.1: http://totallybookedblog.com/2013/02/...
4. In Flight, book 1, chapter 3-6 – stop!
5. James POV 1.2 (scroll down): http://aestasbookblog.com/wp-content/...
6. James POV 1.3: http://anas-attic.com/anas_diary/up-i...
7. In Flight, book 1, chapter 7 – stop!
8. James POV 1.4: http://shhmomsreading.com/exclusive-e...
9. In Flight, book 1, chapter 8 – stop!
10. James POV 1.5: http://beccathebibliophile.blogspot.c...
11. In Flight, book 1, rest of book
12. Mile High, book 2, chapter 1 & 2 – stop!
13. James POV 2.1: http://jessysbookclub.wordpress.com/2...
14. Grounded, book 3
15. James POV 3.1:TBD

James Archibald Basil Cavendish, III: British-American (of Cherokee and Italian decent)/29 years old/hotel heir-mogul-playboy-celebrity/$$$$/dark blond hair/turquoise eyes/dom.

Bianca Karlsson, “Bee”, “(Princess) Buttercup: Swedish-American/23 years old/flight attendant-hobby artist/light blond hair/pale blue eyes/sub.

And so the story of Princess Buttercup (Bianca) and her Love continues, the 2nd verse of its theme song portraying the dark forces trying to keep them apart:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYQ4B1...

“…This love was stronger than the powers so dark
A prince could have within his keeping…
…My love is like a storybook story
But it's as real as the feelings I feel…”

Book 2 is the intense continuation of James and Bianca’s relationship. After the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, James is pursuing Bianca relentlessly, trying to win her back, desperately trying to hold on to the progress he had made and persistently trying to take their relationship to the next level. All this while trying to protect Bianca against the imminent threat of her past, stalking, vicious tabloids, malicious ex-girlfriends, subs, wannabe’s and admirers.

Bianca is trying to adjust to everything that is James and the lifestyle he represents while coping with all the vindictiveness and trying to sort her deepening feelings for him. Her past continues to endanger her safety and impact her decisions.

The harder Bianca resists the more James pushes forward. Though his status as her dom gives him some advantages as well as having gotten to know how to better negotiate with her. But for the most part his vulnerability and desperation haunts him and their relationship. He continues to put himself out there. Yet their love continues to be tested.

By now I can tell you that “sötnos” is a Swedish endearment that means “cutie pie”.

I also thought it so endearing that James made it his task to literally dress (and undress) Bianca. And him wanting them to match their clothes was too sweet.

“He bit me hard enough to make me yelp. “There you go, belittling us again. You must know by now that I’ve never done any of this for anyone else. I was a slut once with my body, but I’ve never been a slut with my heart”…”

This is another deeply erotic and highly emotional instalment in Bianca and James' story.

It's the second part of the Up in the Air Trilogy and it doesn’t work as a standalone. You need to read In Flight first – I can highly recommend it. If you like hot, dominant alpha males, it will definitely work for you. Also, my review may be slightly spoilery for In Flight so please make sure you’ve read that before you carry on here.

We pick up a few weeks after the end of the first book. Bianca has recovered slowly from her injuries and is keeping James at a distance and is now back at work flying and is on a night stop in Florida. James is desperate to see her again and will do almost anything to get her back. She does eventually agree to meet him when she is back in Vegas.

Once she sees him again, she knows she is powerless to resist his charm, the deep attraction that they share is all-consuming and they are soon reunited. We’re starting to see two sides to James Cavendish. There is James, doting, caring boyfriend – he will do everything and anything for Bianca, he thinks of everything, tends to her every need. He worries about her constantly, fears for her safety and there’s a sad vulnerability to him. His feelings for Bianca run so deep but his fear that she will not return his feelings and leave him again is all too apparent.

I love any touch from you. It feels caring, and I want that. I want so much for you to care for me.

The other side of this man is Mr Cavendish – a very much in control dominant. Their BDSM scenes together in this one are simply delicious and quite a lot edgier as they play a little harder in their dungeon on the Fourth Floor than they did in the previous book.

I think this was so well done – the second book in the trilogy is traditionally very difficult to write and often the most criticised. It’s neither a beginning nor an end and can often just be filler but R.K. Lilley does a really good job of maintaining the integrity of the characters while allowing us to get deeper inside their personalities, all the while moving the story along at a believable pace. Their chemistry is still positively volcanic, the romance a little sweeter and I felt everything with them – their overwhelming desire for each other, their desperation and fear that this won’t work out and, although neither will say it, their obvious love.

Everyone’s relationships progress further with this one, including Stephan’s and the secrets in Bianca’s past rear their ugly head once again. I think it’s beautifully done, it doesn’t feel rushed, you can feel the intensity growing between Bianca and James, even if neither of them will actually say the words. I am rooting for them to find their HEA, to find an equilibrium that will suit their reticent personalities.

We end on a moment of drama, while not quite the cliffhanger we had in In Flight, this sets up the final part of the trilogy beautifully. Grounded will finish this story off and, at the time of writing, is currently slated for release on February 26 2013. I can’t wait.

Bianca and James faces few demon in their pasts and it's up to me make their relationship work and trust each other! As we all know James has been a manwhore before this!

Facing his exes is yikes and a big challenge for Bianca!!!! His ex-bimbos definitely got into my nerves! At times, Bianca needs kick, instead of talking with him first about that white elephant, she decides to jump into his bed! Well, I wonder how much of self-control I might have in that situation!

 photo tumblr_mkucicXlUV1rtg2f0o1_500.gif

"Unless part of my convincing you was that you want to get fucked against the nearest wall, I'd start walking, Buttercup!"

These two only get hotter and steamier.... GAH, MR. BEAUTIFUL IS REALLY GOOD! Dom as he can be! That playground of his........... He definitely is well stocked!
I love the way he is so thoughtful for all her needs! I wanna to be pampered like that too *giggles*

 photo excited.gif

On this for sure, riding horse will be not be the same anymore.... certain image of James will surely enter in! *winks*

I was really looking forward to reading this second book in this series. But turns out the joke's on me, since the scene I was hoping for was not even in this book but in the third one. So that was a disappointment, because I do think that this book could need a bit of action. I don't know, if it's the reason that this is my second time reading it or what, but I felt that this story was slightly dragging and was in some parts even boring. So I admit to skimming some pages, especially the BDSM ones. That genre just doesn't do it for me anymore, so I'm in it solely for the romance, which is not bad. There were some swoon worhy moments and that made me enjoy the story more but there were also some parts that I really didn't like, like the one with the bathroom scene or the dressing stylist. Had it been me, I would've put her in her place in a much more direct way. But to each it's own, I guess. Sadly this isn't one of my favourite books anymore but I still want to read the rest of the series, just to get to that scene that I've been craving for.

4 SINFUL JAMES CAVENDISH STARS

This is the second book in the Up In The Air Trilogy the first being In Flight which I have to say I didn’t love but don't hate either. I had serious mixed feelings about the book and the series but there was something that made me want to keep going and see how things developed and turned out and I have to say I’m SOOOOO glad I kept reading. This book was freaking SCORCHING...WOWZERS!!! James was extremely delicious in this one with a soft side that I found really attractive. The writing in the beginning did drag some and there were a couple eye rolling parts but for the most part once I reached the horseback riding scene (and NO I will not tell you how that scene turns out but HOLY FREAKING SH*TBALLS it’s MIND FLIPPING BLOWING!! I mean seriously that is probably one of the most creative things I have E.V.E.R read) I fell in love with it.

Can I just mention again the horseback riding thing because......

description

WOW...does it make you go YES, YES, YES, YES!

I think this book unraveled so much better than the first. I got more of James in it and felt connected to him and Bianca more. Their chemistry is absolutely palpable as well as the BDSM element came through wayyyy more in this book than the last. I actually really loved the BDSM that was in it. It wasn't too much and didn't feel overwhelming. There were a couple times where I felt like the sexual situations were a little unrealistic but IMO it's fiction which makes the unrealistic situations okay...lol.

“I don't feel alone with you. I feel like I have a family and a home again. You're my home. All of the dark shadows seem to disappear when we're together.” - James

This book starts out exactly where the last book left off. Bianca is taking a break from James. She's trying to collect her thoughts and pull herself together. Being with James is scary for her. When she's with him he makes her feel things she's never felt before and more than that she feels this overwhelming connection to him that she's just never felt with any man (I mean he's the only one she's ever felt attracted too so obviously that's HUGE). James is full on in love with her in this book. He wants her bad and will not stop until he gets everything he needs from her. His feelings for Bianca run extremely deep. So finally she acquiesces and allows herself to meet up with James at a party. Well when they meet up sparks fly and they fall right back into the swing of things relationship wise. James has a ton of work ahead of him trying to get Bianca to open up and see the relationship for what it is.

What is the relationship you ask???

Welllll...I think that their relationship is one dreams are made of. It's something that can stand the test of time if Bianca can allow herself to be loved by James and if James can try to respect her boundaries and love Bianca back the way she needs (which lets be honest he knows EXACTLY how to love her).

Do you even know how crazy that is ?" I asked in the same quiet voice, as though we could be overheard. "I'm nobody, and you're the most extraordinary man I've ever met. I don't deserve you."

He made a little sound of protest in his throat. “You’re my angel, Bianca. You've exorcised my demons. I don’t have nightmares when I’m with you. I don’t have to work seventy hour work weeks to keep my mind distracted. My life has become more than work and emotionless affairs. You make me a better man.”

Gahhhhh...that quote just get's to me Every.Freaking.Time!

This book is basically them working through the issues that surfaced at the end of book 1. It's also about them falling in love with each other. It's about how James needs to dominate and protect her and also how Bianca needs that from James. In this book she realizes how much she craves James's love and attention. It's really, really, really good!!!

Overall I really loved it and I'm DYING to get my hands on Grounded! I think the next book is going to be amazing. For me Mile High was a combination of sex, love and domination. James lit up the pages keeping the reader fully in tune to his dominating ways. Bianca was the perfect submissive learning that with James she's exactly where she's suppose to be. For a sequel I was extremely impressed as I felt as though the author did an amazing job of keeping the story spicy and interesting as well as building and developing the characters at the same time. I'm very happy with it and would absolutely recommend this series.
February 15, 2013
The ending of In Flight was pretty awful and things haven't gotten better. While Bianca's body is healing, her mind, heart, and soul are trying to make sense of what's going on with her and James. Can she really trust him? And more importantly, can she let him in?

When Bianca finally agrees to see James, it's at a nightclub and James hadn't shown up yet. Bianca was opening up and telling some of the other flight attendants about him...

“On a scale of one to ten, what was he?”

I sighed. They were not gonna let up. “How would, ‘I want him to f*ck me to death, and he just might’, rate on that scale?”

Of course, James walks up at that exact moment and he wastes no time in letting Bianca know how much he misses her...

“Did you want me to f*ck you in front of all of your co-workers? Because that’s all I can think about, when I see you in that outfit.”

~sigh~ But Bianca is just as affected and while they don't go at it right then, there are plenty of extremely steamy scenes. Some are pretty noteworthy, especially the one on horseback which I still couldn't figure out! (Where's a horse when you need one...LOL!)

description

I think that's really the draw for me, James' intensity and his insatiableness! How many different places and ways can RKL come up with? And I really want to know more about James...not the whats but the whys!

The time away from Bianca has only made James...more. More jealous, more intense, more brazen and he's finding it hard to hold back...not that he does...much! I was really surprised about the tattoos though. I still can't believe with everything that has gone on they haven't said those three little words. Even though James' actions are shouting them, Bianca still needs that and I have a feeling James does too.

The drama is still going on with Jules and she's bringing in more people. The charity event and episode in the bathroom was a bit shocking and unfortunately, I'm sure we're not done with her yet. The good thing that came out of that is Lana. I thought she was fantastic and was sooo happy that at least someone was in Bianca's corner.

There's some new development with Stephan and a new/old romance. I really like him and want him to be happy. I think that both him and Bianca need to have some growth to be able to let others in. I guess it would be nice if they both got that.

The drama is still going on with Bianca's past and what happened at the end of the last book really amps up at the end of this one. We get some new and interesting information as well as really harsh stuff...and of course, that's where it leaves us hanging. Onto the last one!

Favorite quotes:

♥ “Nothing in my life has ever felt as perfect as being inside of you.”

♥ "I was a slut once with my body, but I’ve never been a slut with my heart.”

♥ “You make me so happy, Bianca. I never knew life could be this good. I’ve been alone for so long, since my parents died, really. But I don’t feel alone with you. I feel like I have a family and a home again. You’re my home. All of the dark shadows seem to disappear when we’re together.”

4.5 Smokin Hot Stars!

I absolutely love this series, Bianca & James ❤ simply belong together, he just needs to convince her of that, the blurb pretty much says it all, continued from the 1st book, which really must be read in order, Bianca continues to avoid James, until she just can't anymore, she's drawn to him like a moth to a flame,
Which is exactly what happens when these two are together, the BDSM scenes are scorching HOT, with the perfect mix of kink & sensuality...

More twists, and a new discovery just continues to put both James and Bianca's emotions in a constant state of concern, fear and turmoil...excited to read the next book! ;)

call me a masochist but i'm continuing the series. i just need to know what happens next.

about this book: i don't know what to say. it was the same damn thing over and over again like a mantra. she was always so damn jealous and he was always closed off. they are both equally fucked up and have major communication issues. like if they just talked, it would save them (and me) half the headache and drama.

Re read February 2013 (double the love)!

This trilogy has got me all kinds of 'book excited' 5 delicious, heart stopping, James and Bianca stars.

This story started perfectly from where book one's dramatic cliff hanger left off. If I thought I enjoyed James and Bianca's story before in book one, in this book I was positively swooning.

In this second book the author takes us on the delicious journey of obvious soul Mates, we get to learn more about the characters that I fell in love with from book one -

Jealousy, possession, love, life, heartache, pain, dark hidden pasts all play their staring roles in this roller coaster epic love story.

This book gives you more than sex driven written in scenes. There is plenty of story and intrigue, the author kindly takes you on a clever journey of two broken hearts, making each other whole.

This is a continued story of the impossibility of two people made for each other, yet unable to voice their thoughts and feelings, (ok, so at times I thought just USE the three little words)! I thought this couples journey was told so well by the author, and as a reader I felt every heartache and drawn out angst.

What I loved most about the book is the inclusion of story telling surrounding the romance and steamier scenes, which allows the reader to learn more about each character. In my opinion it has enough drama to keep any reader entertained and as with book one, book two has left me eagerly waiting for book three to complete the series and love story of James and Bianca. *sigh*

5 enormous shining stars ... And more skeletons in the closet than your standard graveyard!

See you in the next book Mr Beautiful ...

I find this better than the first book. James Cavendish surely impressed me here. I'm in awed on all the he'd done to win Bianca. He's sweet, sexy and hot. He's more patient, persuasive and considerate since he's also adjusting on having a new relationship (definitely not contractual). Bianca wants to take their relationship really slow. She got the public's attention by dating James and as well as trying to control her feelings whenever she encounters his exes.

I love how their relationship grows up into something more and help each other to fight their own demons. What a wonderful development. This book deserves my 4 stars.

Holy Tattoo James and all that kinky fuckery! WOW... Yum

Story picks up a month later after the events of Book 1... and in that first page I was already antsy to get James and Bianca back together... tied up together and all. Thankfully I did not have to wait long for all their sexing to begin. James is even more determined to keep her in his life and in some instances to keep her running away from him after that horrible incident at the event.
Side Note: SERIOUSLY why does James seem to only drift to complete bitches... no that word is still too nice to describe the Evil Duo.

James and Bianca's relationship moves fast mostly because of James and I love it. He is certainly the man who knows what he wants and will go ALL OUT to make it happen. OH YE! at some points I wanted to slap Bianca just so she finally stops being so negative and literally pooh pooing on James feelings toward her and their relationship - “There you go, belittling us again. You must know by now that I've never done any of this for anyone else. I was a slut once with my body, but I've never been a slut with my heart.” But James is persistent slowly thawing that ice around her heart and I am glad that Bianca finally submits.

Beyond their developing love story there is a huge cliff-hanger at the end with some revelation regarding her family... DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMA!
So can't wait for the 3rd book to see what happens

James & Bianca are drawn to each other they both had horrible childhood but from two side the coin, James came from money & Bianca family had none. James has introduce Bianca to the dark side the bdsm D/s and she is finding the pleasure and pain goes together and she has masochistic nature. Now Bianca has been attacked in her home and hospitalized her demons from the past has caught up to her. She is confused for her feeling for James and decide to take a month long break to nurse her injuries and pull away from James. With a push from Stephen (her best friend) Bianca calls and decide to meet James a company function for employees from her airlines thinking she would be safe, however the connection of James Dominate alpha male pulls Bianca back into their steamy D/s relationship. Now James is trying to pull her into his world and keep her safe from the danger that is still lurking in her life. The good girl now has joined the Mile High club and can't get enough of the dominating Mr Cavendish. Now they are hit with his past that tries to tear them apart for good. James is determined he has never met nor wanted anyone like he wanted Bianca and fight for their relationship no matter who doesn't want them together.

I read this series last year and I'm now listening to the audio version so I am leaving a review based off of how I feel a year later and listening to the series all over again.

At risk of repeating myself from my review from the first book in the series, I can't help but start this review to clearly state that this book series is my absolute favorite series out of everything I have read. The clear devotion of James to Bianca is pretty intoxicating. Who wouldn't want a billionaire who could have anyone or anything he wants choose you and to choose you 100%?

James has lead a very wild life since losing his parents at such a young age to only be abused by a cousin and then later raised by a very emotionally cold aunt. He strikes out as soon as he is 18 and indulges in woman for years until he meets Bianca. His experience with his cousin has made him need absolute control. BDSM is where he gets that control but he has very few people in his life he cares for or even trusts.

Bianca witnesses her father kill her mother at a very young age and she runs away to save herself, meeting Stefan, who becomes her brother and best friend. Stefan protected her while they lived on the streets and an occasional foster home and has been the only man in her life that has every loved and protected her. She trusts no one else.

James having been with so many woman and feeling nothing, knows the minute he lays eyes on Bianca that the feeling he gets actually means something and he will stop at nothing to claim her. Bianca does not make this easy for him. He is the first man who has ever made her feel anything as well but she is so used to keep people at a distance she fights to keep him at arms length while he fights to bond her to him for life.

The lengths that James goes to to keep Bianca is crazy and probably completely unrealistic but is also the reason I absolutely adore this book series. To have a man so 100% devoted to you that he will fire any staff members who do not treat her well. To be 100% honest to her no matter how bad it may make him look to prove he is placing his complete trust in her. To accept and take care of Stefan, knowing how much he means to Bianca instead of getting jealous and trying to separate them just because it would be what Bianca wants. You just can't help but fall hard for James Cavendish. How could I not love this series!

The audio is also very good. I have limited experience listening to audio books but I can say this narrator has been very good with the accents she's had to impersonate and anytime she has had to impersonate a man's voice, it has not detracted from the story.

I just don't know what I think about this series. I initially started it because I was told that I needed to read this before reading Tristan and Danika's story. I wasn't impressed with book one, and decided to skip the next two and to right to T and D. LOVED T and D so much, I figured I would push through and get all the tidbits about them from the Up in the Air, even if I wasn't exactly diggin' it. Here at the end of book two in the series and I still haven't been introduced to Tristan or Danika, so I'm wondering where they come into the story.

As far as James and Bianca's story goes, it's okay, I guess. I feel like Bianca is being given every opportunity known to man to understand how much James cares about her, and yet she is so ignorant. It just screams juvenile to me. He can flat out tell her to her face that he wants a permanent, lasting, loving relationship with her and in the next paragraph, she's internalizing how she doesn't know how into their relationship he is. It's so obnoxious. I wish the author would have found a better reason for Bianca to have doubts.

The BDSM elements aren't too over the top, but they are a bit eye roll inducing at times. I think maybe I'm just over the fluffy BDSM pieces. I've read a handful of authors who really make me believe it, and use that aspect to drag me kicking and screaming deep into a love affair with the genre. Then I real some silly tripe like this and I just...can't...do...it. I don't believe in it with James and Bianca, I just don't. Their weird jealousy thing that starts up in this book is over the top as well and seems contrived to add drama. Each scene set for a possessive issue ends up feeling really awkward.

I will for sure read book three. This wasn't terrible. I get why people like it. I really like all of the secondary characters. I'm curious to read Lana's story, if only because I'm hoping it's set in Hawaii. I love that Bianca is a flight attendant. It's just different, and it means that we get to go from New York to Vegas and back again in pages. I love her bestie and their wonderfully supportive relationship. I like that Bianca is striving to stay independent and that it is really important to her that she continue to work and support herself. She's not giving up her own identity to become James' woman.

Reread 2023. 2 stars from 2.5
I have no tolerance for weak women and doormats. Bianca’s your basic, whiny, clitoris for brains doormat.
It’s no wonder why I can’t seem to finish this series, I always end up skimming or dnf’ing the 2nd or the 3rd book.

So in the last book, the MC broke up, because Bianca found out that he was taking his on again, off again fuck buddy Jules to a fancy event without telling her. It’s a betrayal, because they had agreed to be exclusive.

Not many women would be ok with their man taking their ex fuck buddy on a date. And yes it’s a date even though he swears it’s nothing.🙄 He and the Ow’s been fucking since their teenage years, and he said the last time was a year ago, so it’s not nothing. It’s been years since I last read this all the way, but if I’m not mistaken, Jules/ow is one of the 3 women who had pierced nipples from him. (I think nipple piercing nonsense is discussed in book 3)

Anyway, so the h runs out heartbroken, and breaks things off with him for a month.
(And yes, he still took Jules to the event event that night, although he saw the h run out of his house crying after seeing the ow all dressed up waiting for him. So H didn’t put her first, all his sad whining was just whining).

He grovels via texts, but she basically insta forgives him anyway, because she had missed him. 🙄
She made damn sure he knew all were forgiven by wearing his gifts (sub/dom slave collar) and dressing slutty for him to their first meet up since their break up.🙄
And before even discussing the matter like adults, she first almost gets into a cat fight with another girl who was rubbing on him, then she’s fucking his brains out in his limo, because he’s sooooo hot not 30mins after seeing him again. How pathetic.

I love Ow drama when it’s dealt like mature adults.
But I hate, hate it when everything’s fixed with sex, that’s just lazy writing.

2.5 🌟 it was ok. Liked the OTT jp H, the h was a doormat.🤷🏻‍♀️

Need to try finishing this series.

Well this one went downhill FAST for me.

The things that I loved so much about In Flight were almost nonexistent in the book.

I loved Stephen's character in book 1, and his character almost completely disappears in this book. I loved Bianca's backbone in the first book. I liked that she stood up for herself and had boundaries when it came to James. In this book, she surrenders as James's sub and her lovely character disappeared. It was a shame.

More than anything, the thing that changed for me from book 1 to book 2 is how I felt about the character of James Cavendish. In book one he was so attractive (in every way), in book 2 he became downright creepy. I disliked how he started to treat Bianca. His obsession with her seemed almost scary to me. He controlled her, dressed her, and completely started to suffocate her (literally AND figuratively)...those of you who've read the book know what I'm referring to. There was something not quite right about Mr. Cavendish, and I stopped seeing him as anything other than a really unhealthy man.

I won't be continuing with this series.

My fave quotes:

“I never thought I'd have the urge to fuck someone to death.”

You're more precious than my own life to me, Bianca.”

“On a scale of one to ten, what was he?"
"How would, 'I want him to fuck me to death, and he just might', rate on that scale?”

“I want to deserve you, my love.”

“The things he made me feel had opened a floodgate, and the damned thing wouldn't close.”

“I wondered how my heart could be both light with happiness and heavy with love at the same time.”

“I don't feel alone with you. I feel like I have a family and a home again. You're my home. All of the dark shadows seem to disappear when we're together.”

“You're my angel, Bianca. You've exorcised my demons. I don't have nightmares when I'm with you. I don't have to work seventy hour work weeks to keep my mind distracted. My life has become more than work and emotionless affairs. You make me a better man.”

“His soul was a mirror of my own.”

Aren't you somethin' to admire
Cause your shine is somethin' like a mirror
And I can't help but notice
You reflect in this heart of mine
If you ever feel alone and
The glare makes me hard to find
Just know that I'm always
Parallel on the other side

Cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
I can tell you there's no place we couldn't go
Just put your hand on the glass
I'm here tryin' to pull you through
You just gotta be strong

I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now you hold
Show me how to fight for now
And I'll tell you, baby, it was easy
Comin' back into you once I figured it out
You were right here all along

It's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me
I couldn't get any bigger
With anyone else beside me
And now it's clear as this promise
That we're making
Two reflections into one
Cause it's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me

Aren't you somethin', an original
Cause it doesn't seem really as simple
And I can't help but stare, cause
I see truth somewhere in your eyes
I can't ever change without you
You reflect me, I love that about you
And if I could, I
Would look at us all the time

Cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
I can tell you there's no place we couldn't go
Just put your hand on the glass
I'm here tryin' to pull you through
You just gotta be strong

I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me

With anyone else beside me
And now it's clear as this promise
That we're making
Two reflections into one
Cause it's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me

Yesterday is history
Tomorrow's a mystery
I can see you lookin' back at me
Keep your eyes on me
Baby, keep your eyes on me

I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now you hold
Show me how to fight for now

You are, you are the love of my life

Now you're the inspiration for this precious song
And I just wanna see your face light up since you put me on
So now I say goodbye to the old me, it's already gone
And I can't wait wait wait wait wait to get you home
Just to let you know, you are

You are, you are the love of my life

Girl you're my reflection, all I see is you
My reflection, in everything I do
You're my reflection and all I see is you
My reflection, in everything I do

You are, you are the love of my life

3.5 stars

Long story short, on the whole I enjoyed this book more than the previous one. It’s pretty close to 4 stars. I’m a sappy romantic, so I loved seeing Bianca nurtured and showered with affection.

Despite the fact that he’s always been a manwhore, James only has eyes for Bianca now. He seems to be making it his mission to take care of her in his own dominant way. However, it bothers me that the moment Bianca is in James’s presence, she loses her independence and her boundaries dissolve.

Stephan isn’t in this book as much as the first one, and I missed their fun interactions.

BDSM is integral to the plot, but I think there’s just way too much sex. I found myself wanting to skip some of the sex scenes. It makes me wonder if their relationship is built on a firm foundation or if it’s primarily sex. This series is a page-turning guilty pleasure, though, so I’m off to read the next book.

Not much happening in this book. I felt like i was in a boring knockoff world of Christian and Anna. Something about James just felt odd, i had a hard time connecting with these 2. Does he really need to dress her all of the time... And what is with the choking scene, a bit much....he is crazy

OMG, James Cavendish, you continue to rock my world!

Continuing on one month after the events of the first book, In Flight, this book picks up the drama straight away, with James and Bianca still struggling with their tumultuous, fledgling relationship. They still want each other, badly, but Bianca still has issues with the relationship side. And OMG, those issues get played out in frustrating detail!!!! The woman did my head in for half of this book! How can she still be so freaking oblivious???

OK, this isn’t really a spoiler, but there is some major ranting ahead so up to you whether you choose to witness my meltdown…

But James loves her deeply, and storms on regardless, never doubting that he will bring her around. Lavishing her with love, affection and gifts… as well as other things that she needs *wink*. And I must say that through all of my irritation, I never actually really disliked Bianca. I was frustrated with her, sure, but she was honest with herself, and managed to give enough to James to let him know that she was affected by him. And thankfully, she does manage to have an epiphany, and even though she still has issues, she at least grows enough to be more confident and secure with James. Phew!

Anyway, complaints about stupid heroine behaviour aside, I did really love this book. James is just amazing. Still controlling and dominant, he mainly keeps it restricted to the bedroom, although he is bossy and involves himself in Bianca’s life in any way that he can. But, this is fiction, it’s expected from him, and we love it! And he seems to know what she needs. While some of their behaviour together may seem a bit weird and OTT (with the undressing, and bathing, and then there’s the other side with the punishment side of things), it works for them. He needs to care for her like that, and she seems to need it (she certainly enjoys it), so who am I to judge? He is, in all ways, generous and loving with Bianca and I love that he introduced some teasing into their relationship. And of course, he is absolutely protective of his girl.

“Meet my future. Her name is Bianca. Come to terms with it. My advice would be to get on her good side.”

Like the first book, there are lots of steamy moments, and even more swoon as James and Bianca start to open up more and more to each other, and James starts to make plans for their future. And, importantly, there is a new level of honesty to their relationship (particularly with James being willing to share details of his sordid past), and I really loved that!

“I can’t change my past, Bianca. All I can do is be honest with you, and I’ve done my best.”

“I want to deserve you, my love.”

The dramas continue with Bianca’s family and James’ exes, and with particular storylines left undone and twists uncovered, I’m looking forward to seeing further developments in the next book (including a very well deserved smackdown that I am practically drooling to see!). But mostly, I’m looking forward to seeing Bianca completely let go, and seeing her and James finally getting the HEA that was hinted at in the final pages.

“I don’t know how it happened so fast, but you feel like home to me, James.”
A hoarse, pained sound escaped his throat. “Yes,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “This is home.”

There’s no room in perfection for insecurity

Mile High, book 2 of the Up In The Air series, begins almost a month after the end of book 1, In Flight

The whole flight crew, including captain Damien, are on an overnight layover in Miami and Bianca is slowly recovering from the assault of her father. Having not seen James for all this time James is on the edge to see her or even talk to her. He begs her to see him and she relents to a meeting in Las Vegas during an outing with the crew. As soon as she sees him again she knows she will be not able to resist him.

“Are you punishing me, Mr. Cavendish?”
“Of course I am, just to give you a taste. I was desperate for you. To comfort you, to tend to you. Hell, just to look at you. But you withdrew from me completely, until I was pathetically grateful for just a text from you, and even that you withheld most of the time. So I needed to give you at least a small taste of the wanting.”

James whisked her away to his horse ranch, where they have wickedly hot sex on James’s horse, Devil or Demon the verdict on his name is still out!

“You must know by now that I’ve never done any of this for anyone else. I was a slut once with my body, but I’ve never been a slut with my heart.”

Their relationship moves forward in a fast pace with Bianca agreeing to let James take care of her and moving in with him, even agreeing to the round the clock security on her. James showers her with expensive clothing and diamonds.
I enjoyed reading how they interact with each other, how they loved everything about each other without voicing the apparently much needed “I love you”, and James even locking the collar.

We also get to know both his sides: Mr. Beautiful who is tender, loving, caring and jealous.

And also Mr. Cavendish who is cold, dominant, distant and temperamental, being the master of his 4th floor dungeon. Their scenes in the dungeon were hot but I absolutely did not like the choking scene at the spa, to me it was very alarming.

“You’re my angel, Bianca. You’ve exorcized my demons. I don’t have nightmares when I’m with you. I don’t have to work seventy hour work weeks to keep my mind distracted. My life has become more than work and emotionless affairs. You make me a better man.”

Book 2 also ends on a cliffy with Bianca getting extremely disturbing news.

I really liked this book. It has just the right amount of drama for a light, hot read.

I love the developing relationship between James

and Bianca.

I love how dominate and possessive he is. The things that James does to Bianca is just flat out hot!

I can't wait to get more of this sexy couple in Grounded.

As always Mr. Beautiful comes – larger than life – and sweeps Bianca off her feet.
No matter how many times I read the second part of the trilogy I always get drawn into it.
I think Ms. Lilley did an excellent job into telling us the story of how these two continue to learn about each other and try to make it as a couple.

Mr. Beautiful moves heaven and earth to win Bianca’s trust and it always amazes me how he does it in an over-the-top-but-overly-sexy way. I wouldn't mind having one of those either!!!

I find it that every time I finish one of my favourite books I always do a bit of a sad sigh / swoon and this is no different.
Can’t wait to reread the final part of their journey.

PS I wouldn’t mind inspecting James’ tattoos as well. For purely aesthetic reasons of course.
