Lissa is madly in love with Saber and it seems he returns her feelings but she has a problem. She and the man of her dreams both come from the same clan of the Touch Kindred. By the archaic laws of their people, they are too closely related to be bonded. Which means that even though there is no blood tie between them, they are doomed to remain apart.

But their personal dilemmas will soon be the least of their worries. Sacred scrolls, vital to the defense of the Kindred people, have been stolen and sold to a collector on the barbaric slave planet, Yonnie Six. To retrieve them, Lissa and Saber must go undercover as Mistress and slave on the savage world where domination, submission, and kinky sex are the order of the day. Will the love between them survive this trial by fire? Or will Lissa lose everything and be Exiled from the one person she loves above all others?

A timid priestess turned Mistress...

A proud warrior posing as her slave...

Will their love blossom on the savage world where domination, submission, and kinky sex are the order of the day?

Or will Lissa be Exiled from the one male she loves above all others?

It's difficult for me to review this as fiction because it so closely mirrors my own life: I, too, was once forced to infiltrate a planet of hedonists to seek out a relic that could save my people - forced, that is, with my forbidden love.

Nonetheless, I'll attempt to remain objective.

Exiled keeps the formula Anderson has dutifully stuck to for the previous six books: an unlikely pair destined to be together by the Goddess herself are thrust into a dangerous situation in which they must fuck and suck their way to safety...and fall in love along the way.

Also true to the series, Exiled puts yet another spin on the formula by making both characters equally restrained and eager to commit various acts forbidden by their people because of their clan affiliation. And not only that, she adds three other new elements: a "Touch Kindred" variant (though this is underutilized, in my opinion); new types of danger and new sources of comedy; and a completely new way for our character's sexuality to be challenged. Brilliant!

The writing remains at the same level: amateurish and cliched in many places, occasionally error-prone, and fast-paced, fun, and a breeze to get through. Guilty pleasures don't get much more basic than this. High and low adventure await!

If this is the last book in the series I'm going to have a childish tantrum. I'll throw myself on the floor crying pathetically, kicking, screaming and shredding a newspaper with my teeth.

I really liked this book, I think is one of the best of the series so far, for me. I had so much fun reading the story of these two, there was so much tension between them, that I couldn't help being hooked in their adventurous drama.
I do admit that here, I had to consciously heavily apply willing suspension of disbelieve, otherwise my logic wouldn't have let me believe the driving obstacle between the couple and I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the story. Luckily, I was able to put my critical thinking aside for a bit and enjoy this romance.

Lissa, High Priestess of the Goddess and Saber a much feared Touch Kindred warrior have loved each other since they were young, but because of the antiquated laws of their planet they can never touch or be together. However, circumstances out of their control have them working together in Yonnie Six, a barbaric planet where men are bred as nothing more then slaves and to fit in Saber a powerful warrior must submit to the usually shy Lissa. They must play their parts to perfection, the fate of the universe depends on it, but can they hold themselves back from showing the passionate but forbidden love they both possess for one another.

Whenever there is a new Kindred book out I know I need to set aside the day as there isn't a chance I will do anything but snuggle up with Kendra the Kindle and read it cover to cover, and this time was no different; I got my supply of Diet Pepsi and grapes (I am on a diet, usually it would be salt & vinegar crisps) and got to reading. I loved every second. I laughed, I cried, I squirmed and had some rather deliciously naughty dreams that night. Loved. It.

Lissa and Saber were just so cute together, perfectly matched and although they did have some explosively hot scenes together, definitely the kinkiest in the series, there was just something adorably sweet about them. As for the kinky factor *fans self* wow, it had me panting and drooling all over poor Kendra...it's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for!

Another reason I enjoyed this book so much was that it tied up a lot of loose ends as this was supposed to be the end of the Kindred series, but luckily there was a note at the end saying there will be at least one more. But as this was written like it was the last, you get to see the conclusion of Draven and the horde and also meet Lara's clone again. We also get to check in with all the other couple to see how they are faring, I love to check up on a previous HEA!

This book, and this series, is full of humour, super smexy sex and had some damn sexy aliens in it and I am so glad that it isn't coming to end and I will have at least one more book to look forward to. In the meantime, I am keeping my eyes to the sky and looking out for the Kindred mothership....beam me up!

Main characters: Saber and Lissa
Type of Kindred bonding: Touch Kindred

Oh brother mine....Oh sister mine....
I certainly loved this story like all the previous "Brides of Kindred".
Lissa when she was a child, she was left an orphan. Then, she was adopted into Saber's clan. Since they are from the same clan -even if they don't share the same blood- they are considered brother and sister. Thus, it is forbidden for them to be together.
Unfortunately when they were children they fell in love, Saber's mother found out and Lissa left the planet to become a priestess and to forget about Saber.
They meet again after years and they take an assignment together in which they need to visit a planet where women are in charge and men are just pets and sex slaves.
Sweet innocent Lissa needs to learn to be dominant and the fierce warrior Saber needs to learn to be submissive.

What I really loved: 1. Saber killing "the beast" out if pity because he was feeling sorry for all his suffering. So sad. Absolutely heart breaking!
2. Merrick supporting insecure Saber, making him drunk, talking to him and helping him overcome his trauma. Hilarious! Absolutely great.

What parts I think they needed more development: 1. More explanation about the Touch bond, 2. The story of L and Draven. Their story felt a bit rushed. They definitely needed their own book.

Overall it was an exciting book which kept me on the edge.

I didn't finish this one. The characters annoyed me too much.

Lissa is a priestess who has to go undercover on a femdom planet. And she's really worried about it because it's completely different from she was raised in. The others tell her that everything will be fine because she researched but she's still very insecure. And she should be because I've never seen a spy that ill prepared before. I don't know what she researched but it wasn't the planet she claimed to be from, she only half researched the planet where she was going and she never practiced. While she was "researching" she and Saber should have been living together and practicing for their roles until they got it right.

I stopped reading when she slipped up the nth time because I can't stand stupid mistakes that could have been prevented if you'd practiced, or if you'd researched the right things. This book made everyone look extremely incompetent.

I don't know why I waited so long. For some reason I really wasn't excited by Lissa and Saber's story but ended up being pleasantly surprised. We got more details on all of our previous characters but I will say the ending with the 'big bad' felt rushed and incomplete.

Still the love scenes were hot, and when we see .

AHHH hopefully this isn't my last book of the year!

I'm a sucker for the whole forbidden romance trope and this one had it in small pails. I was really excited to read this book that I bought it right after finishing book 6. Saber's family adopted Lissa when she was 12, so he's like her stepbrother. But no one is this book ever refers to him that way. They have to go to Yonnie Six to find the scrolls detailing how to defeat the Hoard & Draven (I'm still not sure what the Hoard is exactly and in which book we first heard of them). To do so, Lissa poses as a lady from another planet and Saber her body slave.

This book made me want a body slave of my own & I was imagining my crush doing all those things to me. It was hot.

The heart-to-heart Merrick had with Saber was fun too.

I liked the majority of the book till the end, which I didn't dislike, but it just felt disjointed from the rest of the story. Basically, the book was great until the main characters were tossed aside for another couple.

This book made me want to read books for all the children (Olivia finally had her child!) & future children!

33% through the book and I can summarize Lissa this way:

"Uh...um, I...well. Oh...er, huh? I-I don't understand."

Here's the ugly truth: I really don't get why the hero would want her. She continues to put the two of them in danger because of her ignorance. The first time is okay but again and again and again...

That said, glad to see Kat and her boys get some screen time.

48% of the way though(chapter 16) and I have to stop because of how Lissa is written. I can't enjoy the story when Evangeline Anderson writes stupid females. And I've read a lot of EA's books, so I know the characters she writes. Not all are winners but when this happens in the book , I can't take it anymore.

I actually went ahead and read the rest of the chapters -except for Lissa and Saber's-. It wasn't until the end when I read that EA expected this to be the final book, so she wrapped up the rest of the plotlines. I really enjoyed some of the crazy stuff that happens on the mothership. I liked the Draven story too. I mean, it's all silly how everything is wrapped up, but it entertained me greatly.

Oh, and I didn't have any issues with the whole D/S stuff, just how it was written.

FINAL VERDICT
I feel like I've been bashing the author in these last two reviews. Maybe I'm more vocal because I like her and want her to do better. My last review I focused on the need for an editor. With this one, she needed to spend more time on character development.

Also, it felt like a first draft. She should've left it unpublished, wrote a few of novellas like Picture Perfect, then came back to it. Play out each chapter in her head as if it were a movie, then read the draft and make changes chapter by chapter.

**UPDATE**
Finally went back to read chapters 16-32 that contained Lissa and Saber's story.

What can I say? Lissa is stupid to a fault and if I were Saber, I would've left the planet, explaining that Lissa's behavior compromised the mission.

Seriously, who does this?

All-n-all, a total waste of potential, especially since this is the first female kindred of the series. And the funniest, most ironic thing in the entire book? IT'S THE FACT THAT

Lissa/Saber story : 1 star
Draven and the others: 3 stars

It's kind of obvious that I love these books and am always happy to read a new one. I have not been disappointed yet and will be continuing as long as they do! This was another great entry in the Brides of the Kindred series as far as I am concerned. From the first sentence I was ready to sit back and be taken away on my adventure to the stars. The story as always flows perfectly with multiple story lines to keep you aware of what is happening with all your favorites. The language is fun and flirty at times and at others deadly serious when needed when it suits the character. The characters themselves are well fleshed out, including the new ones, and have personalities that are diverse and give them a life beyond the page.

Lissa and Saber were raised as brother and sister when Lissa was orphaned as a child. By the laws of their clan they are not allowed to be together as mates, something that both of them want more than anything. Lissa is banished to First World and becomes a Priestess of the Goddess while Saber stays on his world and is being groomed to be the next Chieftain.

Lissa volunteers to make a trip to Yonnie Six in order to bring back scrolls which had been stolen and sold. These scrolls hold the key to getting rid of the Hoard and ending the darkness. When Saber hears this he asks to go with her so that he can protect her and make sure that she returns in the same condition she left in. Neither are prepared for what they will have to do in order to procure the scrolls and get away with their lives. Yonnie Six is a decadent planet where women use men as slaves, both sexual and domestic, and brutality is a way of life. Shy and reverent Lissa will be posing as the Mistress of Saber, her body-slave, and will have to get closer than either thought they would be able to.

Meanwhile, Draven has hatched a plot to cause chaos on the mothership and is using L a shadow caster who has her own reason for hating the Kindred. Together they hope to get revenge for the perceived slights that they both have sustained.

This was an exciting book that kept me on the edge for most of the book. I was ranting at it when I thought something I would hate to see happen seemed about to occur. I got a good laugh at the craziness on the mothership and felt for them as well. I got to catch up with characters who I have come to really like and appreciate. Not to mention that there were some really good, hot sex scenes to sink into. Love this series and hope it does not end soon!

** This still warrants the 5 stars I originally gave it. Things come across even hotter when you listen and that is saying something. It may have taken me a while to finish but that is because I wanted to savor and didn't indulge every day. Enjoy this hot read any way you can because it is so entertaining.

This was like 2.5 stars for me. It felt way too long and I had to push myself through parts of it, which I only did because I wanted to read the next in the series.

There were some decent femdom scenes, but they felt kind of awkward to me because the FMC was such a mouse—so unsure of herself and pretty much everything. I was more invested in the side stories/world-building than what was going on with the main couple.

First 75%: best Kindred book ever.
Last 25%: worst Kindred book ever.

I was pretty 'meh' about this series when I first started it because the first couple of books seemed to be the same: annoying heroine, too much repetitive sex/dirty talk and too little plot. I stuck with the series because I do really like the concept and I've had a good few chuckles and daydreams in reference to these books. I was very surprised and happy when, about book 3 or so, the series picked up and got much much better. There was actual, you know, plot, and things happened. I plowed through the first three quarters of Exiled and I really enjoyed the dynamic between Saber & Lissa and reading about how they handled the situations on Yonnie Six. (Quite ridiculous name for a planet by the way.)

And then...Evangeline apparently had decided that this would be her last Kindred book (jk, lol!) and she wrapped up the ALL the plot lines in about 25 pages or so. I kid you not. L made nice with Lauren, zipped back to Hrakaz, saved Draven, left him with a honey-do list to clean up his messes, and zipped back to the mother ship in about 10 pages. Then it was another 10 pages to reconcile Lissa & Saber and another 5 pages so the brides could do their little wrap up in someone's 'food prep area' surrounded by cupcakes and shit. (Why the heck can't she just call it a kitchen?? JFC.) The ending was MAJORLY rushed. I didn't buy Draven's salvation one bit. I'm sorry, this is the dude that ripped out Y'dex's eyeball in the last book and regularly made his slaves bleed just because he didn't like the way they spoke to him. The guy was made out to be a huge BAMF and he goes all unicorns and rainbows at the drop of a hat? Please. Also, L's reconciliation with Lauren, although sweet at times, was far far too quick.

Another thing that bugged me: Draven, the eyeball ripping villain, wants to get revenge on the Kindred, has the means of blowing everyone to oblivion, but all he does is make everyone Scooby Doo & switch bodies?? WHAT?!

I really hated the ending. This was shaping up to be the best Kindred book yet and it was basically flushed down the crapper at the last second. Ugh.

I'm not sure if I'll read the next one.

Lissa annoyed me pretty regularly in this book. Unlike the other books, this one doesn't have couple-buildup in previous books (well actually, it does a bit, but really very minimal compared to the others). You do see a lot of Lissa in previous books though.

I thought the relationship between her and Saber was sweet, but sometimes I wanted to slap her upside the head and she definitely had her TSTL moments. Anderson explores an interesting theme in this book, with female dominance, though on Yonnie Six, it goes beyond D/s like you see between Lauren and Xairn—the men are viewed as less than and all of them are slaves, to be punished (in truly horrible ways) at whim, really. It was interesting to see Lissa discover that she enjoyed taking control sometimes in the bedroom.

Seeing Lauren's clone again was a nice rediscovery and I liked that side story that went on; was probably my favorite part of the book, frankly.

Even though there are only a couple of books that I've actually loved from this series, I'm totally addicted and can't stop myself from continuing to read. I love the Kindred world-building and want to see what happens next. Lauren and Xairn, from Found , remain my all-time favorite couple/book.

4 to 4.5 stars - loved this one

Though I did wish I recalled more from the prior books about Lessa growing up, or that this one recapped a bit more as it had been a long time since I read this series. My advice is read close together or re-read as this author doesn't spend much time reviewing and there are plot lines across books.

A big theme on this one could be said to be gender equality and we see it in several usual and unusual ways, some with laughter and some with more depth of reflection. Excellent book.

Good series

As the other books in this series, I enjoy the storyline and characters but there's to much going on in one book. The stories could have been broken down into two books. Nevertheless, the author does great world building. And each character is well fleshed out and intriguing.

As all you know, Evangeline is an amazing writter.
She creates worlds with so many detailed descriptions, they feel so real, it´s like your actually their experience it at first hand.
Exiled is the 7th book and this series and loke the others once you start to read it you can´t put it down, this was also one of the must funny books in the series, it was like 3am in the morning and couldn´t stop laughing!!!
The love scenes were so hot and Saber and Lissa are a remarkable addition to this beautiful world, i loved them so much!!
There was only one thing that made a little sad, i wished L and Draven could´ve had their own book.
It was good to see Deep, Kat and Lock again and there´s one situation in the kindred mothership that almost killed, yep it was that funny, Baird and Sylvan... Ah!Ah! And almost at the end Merricks revelation to Saber made me laugh so hard!!! This males are incredible!!!!
Thank God this won´t be the last book in the series and i can´t wait for the next one to come out!!!

I received a copy to review from the author, so thaks again Evangeline for that honor!!

This book... is amazing!!!

For some reason I love everything about this series... well I liked this none.... Well written... But the ... Well the whole hump in a man thing... Really is not attractive to me. Don't get me wrong I understood the point of it how its about trust and if you love someone then you can give your whole self... But yeah its a no no for me. Also one other thing that did frustrate me was the heroin... She was honestly so annoying!I hated how innocent she was then out of the blue she is all like, "take it" like f that!it really annoyed me, and was was all having fun with that then she is like oh sorry, like wtf. Wow really bugged me. This was probably the worst one of the series for me. Thanks but no thanks to the sex scenes and the heroin I could have lived without. I lived the hero tho. So sexy and I just ... To me don't see how ... I dunno... Just don't my cup of tea. OK so the book started out at 5 stars but the more I think about the story the more I am grossed out and annoyed... Sorry 3 stars in is

I am a huge fan for the brides of the Kindred books. I have read all seven and have enjoyed them all. This book has all that you come to expect for the Kindred series: hot sex, endless devotion, and did I mention hot sex. This book took a different detour on the dominance and submission roles described in Lauren and Xairn’s story in book 4. I felt that the author truly explored the contradictory feelings that someone would have when exposed to this type of situation. The story is filled with lots of suspense and intrigue. The only problem that I have with this book and most of the Kindred series is that there is too much back and forth between the love interests other than that it was an excellent read. Hooray for Evangeline and thank the Goddess that she is still going to continue the series.

Exiled is the funniest book in the series thus far. I laughed so much while reading this book, especially when the characters switched bodies. Lissa and Saber travels to Yonnie Six to retrieve the sacred records and artifacts sod by Minvera in a place where women are worshipped and men are slaves. They must play their part as mistress and slave if they hope to recover the records but they already have feelings for each other which make things interesting. Kat is unsure of what her grandmother will think of her marrying both Deep and Lock and is shutting everyone out but the Twin Kindred aren’t having that so they take control. L and Draven work together to get revenge on the Kindred’s but what they find in each other is so much more and I can’t wait to get more of their story. I enjoyed this book and I’ll be reading the next book in the series.

Sooo good. I just couldn't stop reading it was that good. So you might remember Lissa as the new high priestess on the first planet and Saber is the older "brother" from her adopted family who she is in love with. They go to a planet where men are submissive to women and are basically treated like slaves. There is a planet similar to this in the Cat Star Chronicles series but in that series there wasn't all the abuse. The book was hawt and best of all it caught the readers up to date with all of the characters from the previous books... why? Because it was supposed to be the last book. BUT it's not so yay! I love this series and with the authors note saying she'll keep it going as long as she can think up good ideas I'm thrilled.

Continuing the Kindred World with Saber - the Touch Kindred and his - not to be touched - kinswoman Lissa.
They´re bound for an undercover mission where Lissa has to portray a rich Mistress with her slave. Can they resist their own feelings when they have to pose as a couple? We also get to reacquaint ourselves with L, Laurens copy, and her mission for revenge.
Smutty fluff, suspense and space action.

This book brings SO much memories. I started this series when the first book just came out. Also the first book was one of the first books I read with sex scenes in it. The younger version of me was shook to the core LOL.

I wouldn't say this book is the BEST but I would say it's very Evangeline Anderson and it's enjoyable and cheesy at times. I'm giving it a 3 star for fun memories' sake.
