De CVS Mythe
Waarom onze geneeskunde zich geen raad weet met chronische ziekten! Steeds meer mensen krijgen voor hun onverklaarbare langdurige vermoeidheid en spierpijnen de diagnose CVS. Volgens de auteur zijn CVS en fibromyalgie (chronische spierpijn) echter nepdiagnoses. Het zijn benamingen voor klachten die veroorzaakt worden door een slecht werkend immuunsysteem, een verstoorde hormoonwerking en zieke darmen en/of onaangepaste voeding. Het goede nieuws is dat de oorzaak van CVS en FM altijd kan worden gevonden, als men er maar naar zoekt. Onze artsen zijn hiervoor onvoldoende opgeleid en kennen te weinig over de werking van onze hormonen en ons immuun systeem. De criteria om patienten met hormonale tekorten of immuniteitsstoornissen te behandelen zijn bovendien hopeloos achterhaald, zodat het RIZIV enkel de behandeling van patienten die in een terminaal stadium zijn aanbeland, goedkeurd.

Very interesting book to read. I give it a 3.5 stars because the book tackles a broad topic but I often missed some depth. Certain topics were covered very deeply and the more I read towards the end, the faster he seemed to go through topics. It is a nice addition to read. However, as a health professional, I would recommend reading only the first piece.
