i'm about halfway through the book and i'm not sure if my copy just has a weird recurring typo, but the word(?) "niveli" keeps popping up everywhere and at first i assumed it was a uk slang term i wasn't aware of, but googling gets me nothing.. examples from the book: "i niveli off, i got dressed" "then nivelin the remaining books" "milky, melted niveli" "botanical, niveli kiss" what.. is happening?!

I'd attach a photo if they'd let me, but here's the list of what the words are supposed to be: 75-towelled; 88- sombre; 104- organize; 105-frappes; 117-citrussy; 124-sequinned; 171-levelled; 186-chiselled.

I do not believe Gemma was a character in the main body of the book because I don't think Laura meets her (or the other friends she is drinking with in that scene) until after she moves away. She refers to them without exposition because the writing is told as though it is her thoughts, so she wouldn't be thinking "Gemma, who i met after i started my new job," bc you don't think that about your friends when you refer to them in your head during a night out. At least that's my understanding.(less)
