Sharon Desruisseaux is the author of "Cleopatra Selene, Legacy of the Sun and Moon" and the second edition of that novel which she broke into three books. The first two are currently published and are "Legacy of the Moon" and "Under the Shadow of the Moon". This series “From the Sands of Egypt to Eternity” was inspired by her travels to Egypt and her lifelong interest in ancient Egyptian history. This series takes place in the time when Rome was just establishing its Empire and Egypt had begun to fall into its all-encompassing grasp. The author enthusiastically conveys the reader into the lives of the children of the legendary Cleopatra VII, when they were initially prisoners of Rome, to becoming monarchs under the thumb of Augustus-the fir ...more

“There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it leaves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the savage branches, it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to outcarol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, existence the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His heaven smiles. For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain… Or so says the legend.”
Colleen McCullough, The Thorn Birds

“What was sleep? A blessing, a respite from life, an echo of death, a demanding nuisance? ”

“There are no ambitions noble enough to justify breaking someone's heart. ”

“Of all that I have possessed in my life, my memories are the only things remaining to me. Indeed, I believe that memories are the only real treasure any human can hope to hold always.”

Sharon Desruisseaux By the way, I would love to hear some reviews and if anyone would like me to review their writing, please let me know. I love to read as much as I love to write :)

Sharon Desruisseaux I cannot wait to receive the proof of my latest novel, "Le Point de non retour"!. The ebook version of it is available on Amazon. Soon the hardcover version will be available. This is a tale of Louis and Marie Hebert who were believed to be the first family to settle and sucessfully farm the land in the New World. It explains all they had to work for to reach their dreams of living in New France. I had so much fun researching it and writing it. It was especially interesting since I came across them in my own geneology research and found a whole group of people waiting to be written about. Peole who had ventured over to the New World before the Pilgrims. Very exciting indeed! :

Sharon Desruisseaux I just published my latest book on Kindle to see where it would go! Wish me luck! It is a staory of two remarkable pioneers who left the comforts of France with their family in 1617 to brave the silds of Canada with their children. A feat unheard of before them. This tale relates all of their adventures that enabled them to reach their life long goal of settling across the seas to New France. It is called, "The Point of No Return" ("Le Point de non retour") and here is the link on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005IHWDUU Let me know what you think. :)

Sharon Desruisseaux I am almost completely finished with my latest novel. I am just working on the edits. The question is...Should I hold out for a good publisher? Or should I publish myself? I am thinking seriously on the ebook route. I had a publisher for my first two novels and I was not impressed with them at all. I put alot of time and effort into all of them with oodles of research to boot. Just like everyone else who wants a paycheck at the end of the week-that would be nice. Not too impressed with the way the traditional bookstores are faring-should I put my trust in them? Weighing the options and observing carefully where the trends in reading are..Any input on this dilema would be more than appreciated :) Thanks all

Sharon Desruisseaux Just now figuring out the whole tagging thing, my word it would be nice to have a publicist! :)

Sharon Desruisseaux I am new to this site both as an author and a reader! So any advice would be more than welcome! :)
