Freida McFadden I have also written three women's fiction novels, and I might eventually write more of them!

What ages do you recommend your books for? Are they appropriate for a 13 year old?

Freida McFadden I think it depends on the 13-year-old, but I can tell you that my books have minimal profanity and no explicit sex scenes. There is definitely violence, but I don't think it is overly gruesome.

How old were you when you started writing your first stories, and what were they about?

Freida McFadden I started writing at about age nine, and I usually wrote stories about kids like me!

Freida McFadden Unfortunately, I do not have any book signing events scheduled at this time, but you can order signed copies from Belmont Books in MA.

What age would you say could read your books?

Freida McFadden It depends on the book and the child, but there are no graphic sex scenes or gory violence in my books. A very mature 10 or 11 year old might be fine. I was reading similar thrillers at age 10.

Freida McFadden I can't possibly pick a favorite book! It would be like choosing a favorite child!

what is your plan when writing mystery books, as in how does it come together so well? i love your books so much

Freida McFadden Readers seem to expect more in a twist these days because everything has already been done. You have to step out of the box of: “The suspects were A, B, C, D, and A is the killer.” It’s not even enough to say E is the killer. It has to be E is the killer because he is actually B, and was the victim’s mother and his daughter, and also was dead the whole time. That is the level of twistiness that is now required. It’s kind of frustrating when I have a great idea but I can’t come up with that great twist, and yet it’s always exciting and satisfying when I do come up with it.
