Adam's Race for Bikes for Kids in Need

Donation protected
I'm going to be participating in the Great American Wheel Race, a 3600-mile self-supported mixed terrain race from Seattle to Washington DC and I would like to use the event to do a little good!

I currently work at a bicycle shop in Surprise, Arizona, and we work with A New Leaf to provide bicycles to people that are going through A New Leaf's West Valley Housing Assistance Program. This program helps get families experiencing homelessness off the streets and helps them get back on their feet. A lot of times, this means a bicycle is the only transportation they have and could mean the difference between having a way to work and not. In my opinion, we do a pretty solid job taking care of the adults, but I would like to do more for the children that are going through the program. It's not their fault they are there and their parents have made the choice to ask for help and try to improve their lives but it's hard and takes time.

My goal is to raise money to buy new bicycles for kids going through this program. These kids don't get the opportunity to have the newest and coolest stuff and I know this can be hard on them seeing the other kids at school with the newest video games, phones, shoes etc. This would be a gift we can give them that is the newest, coolest and even better gives them a way to get around and play outside. We had the opportunity to donate some bikes this last Christmas to a family in the program and seeing the kids' faces was priceless!

I have partnered up with Savage Bicycles; by doing this we will be able to multiply the purchase power of our dollars and provide even more bikes!

Not one penny will go to me or any race expenses!! 100% of the money donated will go to this project to buy bikes!! But I totally understand if you are not comfortable giving your hard-earned money to some guy saying he's going to do something cool with it and you still want to help these families. You can donate directly to A New Leaf at the link below, it just won't go to the bicycles for kids project I'm trying to do, it goes to their general fund. It's a great cause either way!
