Interior nominee Haaland says to address climate change alongside innovative energy industry at nomination hearing

Interior Secretary nominee Debra Haaland tells Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee at nomination hearing that she learned in Congress there was no question fossil energy will continue to play a major role in America for years to come, she knowing how important oil and gas revenues were to stay critical services but also address the energy industry is innovating to address the climate challenge and together work to position the nation and its people for success, she committed to work cooperatively with all stakeholders in Congress to strike the right balance but as a part of the Department having a role in harnessing the clean energy potential public lands to create jobs and new economic opportunities.
