Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.3 is set to bring a ton of new content to the game and a huge patch for the Simulated Universe mode.

Alongside the introduction of this mode, the developers have also decided to add a new free-to-play 5-star Erudition Light Cone to Herta’s Shop, which will now offer a total of 4 5-star Light Cones.

Let’s look at what Eternal Calculus has to offer.

Eternal Calculus Introduction

Eternal Calculus is a F2P 5-star Erudition Light Cone that players will be able to buy from Herta’s Store after the 2.3 update.

The Light Cone will cost 8 [Herta Bond], just like any other 5-star Light Cone, and you will be able to superimpose it four times by using [Superimposer (Custom-made)].

The Eternal Calculus has the following effect:

  • Increases the wearer's ATK by 8%/12%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 4%/8%.
    • This effect can stack 5 times and lasts until the next attack.
  • If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit's SPD increases by 8%/16%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

Is Eternal Calculus Good?

Those who have been playing HSR for a while likely know that Erudition is one of the weaker paths in the game, and their Light Cones are not that great. As such, players were eagerly anticipating that the Eternal Calculus would be a good way to boost their already weak Erudition characters, but as the news about its effect went public, the community was not happy.

Although Eternal Calculus is a 5-star Light Cone, its effects are similar to those that one would see in 4-star Light Cones. A total increase of 28% ATK is not that much in the grand scheme of things, and given that Star Rail’s bosses have been getting harder and harder and now have ridiculous amounts of HP, a 28% ATK increase will do no good for the already weak Erudition Characters.

Further testing will still need to be done, and it should also be considered that you can Superimpose this Light Cone for free as well, which brings the total ATK% to 52%, so it might not actually be that bad when leveled up, but it is definitely not up to par with all of the other Light Cones in Herta’s Store.

We will keep you updated with any new information about this Light Cone, so make sure to check back regularly.
