Calling for volunteers: Help FSF staff with the GNU Press shop

People around the world are waiting to receive their GNU press swag orders, and we need your help to make it happen. Would you like to support the FSF's work, while meeting other free software supporters, chatting, laughing, and enjoying complimentary food together?

What: Packing, labeling, and sending GNU Press shop orders.

Where: The FSF office, 51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, 02110. The closest MBTA station is Downtown Crossing.

When: We're organizing four days of work, 14:00 to 21:00 EST each day. Food and drinks will be provided. Please let us know which times and dates would work for you and how many days you'd like to volunteer. The dates are: Wednesday, November 29; Monday, December 4; Tuesday, December 12; and Friday, December 15, 2023.

Why: The GNU press shop is critical to financially sustaining our work of promoting computer user freedom. Volunteering is a way to directly support the FSF's work, have a great time meeting other free software enthusiasts, swap stories, and graze like a gnu. If you volunteer, you might just make some friends -- and you will certainly make some memories. We will provide you with gratis snacks, drinks and food with ample vegan options.

We thought you might be interested in this event since you are located in the general area and subscribed to our Free Software Supporter mailing list and/or have indicated an interest in this type of volunteering opportunity in the past.

• Which times and dates work for you and how many days you'd like to volunteer? The dates are: Wednesday, November 29; Monday, December 4; Tuesday, December 12; and Friday, December 15, 2023.

• What is your phone number? We will handle your contact information with care and will only use your phone number to call you in case we can't reach you during your scheduled volunteer time.

• Do you have any special dietary needs? We will try to be accommodating.

No matter if you are able to volunteer for two hours or for a whole day, we are incredibly appreciative to our supporters.
