Murder in Bensalem apartment parking lot stemmed from fight between 2 men: police

One man is dead, and another charged with murder after a fight took a deadly turn outside a Bensalem apartment this weekend.

Officers arrived to find a 40-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound at Bucks Meadows Apartments on Knights Road Saturday evening.

The victim, identified as Jose Miguel Tenorio-Ruiz, was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Abel Mendoza-Ramirez, fled after the deadly shooting.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect and victim were engaged in a physical fight before Mendoza-Ramirez went to get a semi-automatic handgun from his vehicle.

After Mendoza-Ramirez fired two shots into the ground near the victim, police say Tenorio-Ruiz tried to take the gun from him.

The suspect then fired the gun, hitting the victim in the torso, according to authorities.

A short time later, Abel Mendoza-Ramirez was taken into custody during a traffic stop. 

He is charged with Criminal Homicide, Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Third Degree, and possession of an Instrument of Crime.
