Well hello there summer, it's good to see you again! With summer officially here, the Seacoast is heating up with all sorts of entertainment. This weekend, head over to Somersworth High School for the rescheduled Celebration Night hosted by the Somersworth Festival Association, experience all things Strawberry at the South Berwick Strawberry Festival, see Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy at Prescott Park or take the whole family to Open Farm Day Jubilee 2024 at Hackmatack Playhouse.

Somersworth Festival Association Celebration Night

The Somersworth Festival Association rescheduled Celebration to Friday, June 28, 2024.

What: The Somersworth Festival Association's Celebration will have tasty food and  live entertainment featuring the Somersworth Student Jazz Ensemble, award winning children’s entertainers, Mr. Aaron and Michael, and the ever popular Bad Breath Microphone. Marty Perreault will sing the National Anthem. The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks display.

Transforming Your Yard Into Habitat with Daphne Minner

What: Learn organic habitat gardening practices that support insects, birds, and others in ways that traditional horticulture practices do not. Daphne will lead activities to help you.

Seacoast Food Truck Festival

Seacoast Food Truck Festival will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

What: Indulge in a culinary adventure as we bring together a spectacular lineup of food trucks featuring an array of mouthwatering cuisines. From sizzling burgers to gourmet tacos, wood-fired pizzas to decadent desserts, there’s something to delight every palate. Sip on craft beers, fruity cocktails, or opt for a classic soda. For our little festival-goers, we have a dedicated Kids Zone packed with fun activities and music.

South Berwick Strawberry Festival

What: The Strawberry Festival is an annual event filled with entertainment, food, craft artisans and strawberry shortcakes. There is also a free trolley service which transports our guests to and from the various parking areas.

Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy at Prescott Park

What: Hearing Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy speak reverentially about the fiddle, which has propelled their dazzling careers since childhood while cementing their status as Canada’s reigning couple of Celtic music, is almost as electrifying as hearing them play it.

Open Farm Day Jubilee 2024

What: Twice a year the land at Hackmatack opens up for family-friendly festivals. Join us on June 29 to celebrate the longer days with our annual Jubilee. Live music, food, beer, kids zone, farm animals and more.

Learn to Spin and Community Spin

What: A Learn to Spin and Community Spin will be offered the last Sunday of every month, beginning in May and ending at the end of September. Learn to Spin is 10 a.m. to noon and wheels and fiber will be provided at no cost to the participants. Open spin is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or shine. We may spin outside, weather permitting.

Crows’ Feat Community Picnic

What: Savor the freshest produce of the season while enjoying the beauty & sounds of nature – and the best bands in New England. In 2024 we will again be offering Sunday Picnics ahead of our 3 p.m. concerts. The food is grown right here on the farm, with an emphasis on the freshest produce – served buffet style in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Lunch is served at 1 p.m. and continues until 2:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to tour the farm until the music begins at 3 p.m.

Maddoc Johnson Band: Live Album Recording

What: Be a little part of local music history as the brilliant Maddoc Johnson Band makes a record at The Press Room. The Maddoc Johnson Band is a New Hampshire based group of musicians expressing themes of queer joy, love for the natural world, loss, pain, and radical social progress through the mediums of jazz, hip hop, songwriting, and free improvisation. Ages 18-plus
