John Robert Walker, 90, of Naples, FL, passed away on May 5, 2024.
He was born in Northampton, Massachusetts to Margery (Ambler) and John Walker on October, 11 1933 and spent his childhood in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. John served in the US Air Force as a test pilot and flight instructor. After leaving the Air Force, he and his wife moved to Hampton, NH where he then served in the NH Air National Guard. He was a dedicated pilot employed by Eastern Airlines, ultimately retiring as a Captain. Additionally, he served the Town of Hampton as a Selectman and cherished his role as Town Moderator. John also represented the community, serving one term, as a member of the NH House of Representatives. John’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and woodworking. In retirement, he and his wife spent winters at their condo in Bonita Springs, FL, eventually making Florida their permanent residence. He attended Seacoast Community Church and First Naples Church. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Jane Walker; daughters Donna Walker, Beth Walker-Fenton (Steve) and Susan Ryan (Jim); grandchildren, Cara Fenton, Joshua Ryan, Erin Ryan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Elaine Walker. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 12 PM to 1PM, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home- Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Immediately following visitation, a service will be held at 1PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
