05.11.2001, Barry Horne muore al Ronkswood Hospital (Worcester, Inghilterra) in seguito al quarto sciopero della fame. Il primo sciopero era iniziato nel gennaio 1997 con l'obiettivo di indurre il governo britannico ad aprire un'inchiesta sulla sperimentazione animale. Le promesse del governo non furono mai mantenute, e fu lasciato morire di fame, condannato come un terrorista quando le sue azioni causarono solo danni economici. E' un martire della causa animalista.

The first strike began in January 1997 with the aim of inducing the British government to open an investigation into animal testing.
