Line 5 Eglinton transit line nears completion, August 2022
Perhaps Toronto's largest-ever rapid-transit expansion is coming soon (latest I heard is in 2023) with the opening of Line 5 Eglinton, aka the Eglinton Crossway.
Photos show new tracks and stations, mostly in east end, and still-disrupted Eglinton Avenue as the line tunnels
underground from east of Brentcliffe to Mount Dennis, the current end of the line in the west end. (Work has already started on a western extension to Renforth on the border of Mississauga.)
The line runs 19km, with 10km underground, from Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy in the east, linking with Line 2 Bloor-Danforth.
