Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month Stories: PZ Sunrays
a gallery curated by Flickr
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month and each week we’re highlighting the work of some of the community’s amazing photographers on Flickr. This week, we invite you to explore an album curated by the talented photographer, PZ Sunrays, as she shares a look into her “Endless Journey”. "While I've owned multiple point-and-shoot cameras for years, it wasn't until late 2018 that I truly immersed into photography. Thanks to a close friend, a passionate photographer, who urged me to upgrade my gear to the professional mirrorless series before embarking on a trip together to Iceland and Greenland. Making the switch was daunting at first, as I struggled with changing lenses and quickly familiarizing myself with the interplay of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Since then, photography has become an enriching voyage for me. While I diligently honed my skills through various workshops, it also became a gateway to exploration—of diverse landscapes, cultures, wildlife, and the boundless wonders of nature. Amidst the challenges posed by COVID-19, I discovered hidden local gems and shared these discoveries with friends, family, and colleagues. Currently, my passion lies primarily in capturing landscapes and wildlife, but I aspire to explore into street, macro, and still-life photography as my journey progresses. I was an active member of the National Geographic Your Shot community, where I forged connections with photographers worldwide. When the original Your Shot platform transitioned to Instagram in late 2019, I'm grateful that Flickr extended a warm embrace, providing a new home for me and my fellow photographers to continue our collective photographic odyssey." -PZ Sunrays See more of PZ Sunrays' work and give a follow here!
