I am an Architect, still practising in London. Happily married with 3 (now grown up) children and two grandsons.

My passion for photography started from my early student years in the early 70's, I was fortunate to have my own very compact darkroom, in a tiny shed (1.2m x 1.5m) at the back of my parents' home where I developed and printed mono and later colour from slides with Cibachrome and from negative film.

General photography and creative developing took a back seat with marriage, family and work committments. It was not until the new digital age when my interest in photography was rekindled. Now I don't feel so guilty sitting in front of a PC and processing with Lightroom. The family still gets neglected but now they are older they see this as a blessing. :-))

I apologise in advance to all my friends and followers that my daily schedule does not allow me more than the odd hour or so a day to manage my flickr activities and I don't have the time to comment on your images as much as I would like. But I take a lot of inspiration from studying your photographs and in turn I try to improve my style.

As an Architect I learned to welcome constructive criticism and so I urge you to offer suggestions where you feel one or more of my photos could be improved, if you prefer to keep it private, send me a flickr email and we can have a chat.

Occasionally I go through my list of followers and clear any inactive links. If I have accidentally deleted any by mistake I apologise and I will reinstate if you let me know.

As a rule I will not follow an invite from a person following several and I mean several thousands or from any one who has not indicated in some way that he/she has actually seen any of my images.

Testimony to our friend George Plakides? Hmm, is not as easy as it sounds. I know it is impossible to summarise in just three lines. Might as well start with the obvious; to say that your pictures are wonderful and perfect in their composition, atmosphere, lighting, framing, point of view and perspective is what everyone knows already. But George is much more than a wonderful photographer. Just from reading his profile for the first time I noticed right away his good sense of humour and charisma, not to mention an incredible positive energy. Wandering through your photo gallery is an exciting journey through a world of colours, flowers, bells, boats, churches, people, beaches, sun, sea, drink, food, streets, alleys ... And all of this captured from the best angle possible. I am out of breath after this great spectacle, for example the nights out in London. There is no doubt that all this will leads us to favourite almost all of your photos. It is evident that you always try to take the perfect photograph. Perhaps to try to sum up in just three words, I would say that George Plakides is simply spectacular, fantastic, wonderful. A human being worthy of respect. George Plakides, thank you for sharing your photos, your friendship, your existence.
