Before you do anything on my stream you should know I'm not a fan of the Facebook mentality of fave and run, if you can't leave a comment, don't bother faving. If I had my way you wouldn't be able to Fave an image unless you first commented on it. I always do my best to visit your stream if you are kind enough to leave a comment...... Rant over :o)

"It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a couple of hours."

Started taking photographs when I was a young lad. I can remember being given a camera by my Dad, building a hide in the garden to photograph the birds. This was the start of my interest in Wildlife. For my 18th birthday I had a Yashica Film SLR. In my 20's and 30's the camera didn't get too much use as I was building up my business as a Cabinet Maker. I decided to "go digital" in 2005 and bought a Sony Creative Compact. I quickly moved on to a DSLR and have never looked back !!! It was a case of light the blue touch paper and stand back!!! I am now well and truly hooked!! I now see the world in a completely different light. I never go anywhere without the camera!!

He is a true photographer committed to his craft. Philip is an incredibly talented wildlife photographer. Period! His images are moments in nature that are rarely seen, a gift really to those of us that will likely never see such moments. Last, I'm grateful for his time and willingness to share his encouraging comments with others. So happy to have met, Philip!!

To me he is known as "The Master", he doesn't just take a shot, he thinks about the shot he would like and then he sets up and shoots. His landscape shots are awesome, full of colour and tell a story from front to back. The wildlife shots show great fieldcraft and patience and are pin sharp every time. He always comments and gives constructive views where needed, which is a great help to me. Keep them shots coming Master, we luv em.

He is incredibly talented with an eye for what is out there that needs to be seen. Secondly, Philip Male has been very thoughtful in spending time looking through my work and giving compliments honestly. It has been easy to write a testimonial for this person even though l do not know him personally but l wish l did, boy, could he teach me a lot!

Let's see... something rude or nasty... Oh, DON'T bother with something rude or nasty. Darn, now what shall I write? How about that Philip is quite an extraordinary photographer. I stumbled upon this photostream by some lucky accident and I can honestly say it is one of the few that I really look forward to seeing each new upload. Both the landscapes and the wildlife photos are extraordinary. The first time Philip commented on one of my photos, I was actually taken aback. I think I was surprised that someone so skilled would actually look and comment on a photo by a new contact. I really feel that I improve by looking at Philip's work, so he is pulling me along and I feel like that youngster stubbing his toe, wandering a bit aimlessly, a hundred meters back. Oh, I forgot to mention the brilliant humor. I just feel the need for an English English - Canadian English translation book from time to time! Looking forward to many, many more uploads from you Philip!

Pippin woodlice is probably the funniest guy on Flickr, he certainly makes me laugh more often than most :o) But as well as that he is a photographer extraordinaire, with the most amazing raw talent. Put a camera in his hand and magic comes out, across a broad range of photographic genres... I love his diversity, the next post is always a surprise, and I always look forward to seeing what he has done. But as well as all that, he is such a good friend, always giving encouraging comments, even, or especially, to lowly beginners..... while he produces professional standard pictures he is never above praising the efforts of total numpties (like me), and will always take time to comment on his contacts‘ pictures. Thanks for being there Pippin, friend and artist :)

Philip Male is an outstanding photographer and a constant source of friendly comments on others' photographs. He devotes a large amount of time to flickr and is an ambassador for the site, an example of the very best that members can bring to it. It has been my privilege to be counted among his contacts and an even greater privilege to watch his body of work grow from that of a talented photographer to the master of the discipline he is now. I would be proud indeed if even a fraction of my photographs were as good as his.

It was woodlice111. I emailed Philip and thanked him for his comments which I so much appreciated as he is always so encouraging and helpful. I don't know how he finds time to help so many people as he does on Flickr as well as going out and taking such wonderful photographs as he does himself. II know I am not alone in saying how very much we all appreciate his comments and help. I managed to get a copy of Photoshop and a magazine that he recommended and I am now beginning to do a bit more with my pictures. When I finished my course which I passed I found myself on my own again, but thanks to Philip's comments on my pictures he has given me the encouragement to carry on both taking them and putting them on Flickr. Thank you Philip
