Welcome to the City's "Building a great city -- together" photo contest. We are calling for digital photo entries displaying Toronto's spirit, energy and unique character. The contest runs until June 12, 2009.

How to enter:
You must be a member of Flickr to participate in this contest. Click on "Sign Up" at the top of this page to create your free account. Members can join the City of Toronto Photo Contest Group, agree to the rules and then begin submiting photos for the contest. Only images that are properly tagged and submitted to the contest pool will be considered for prizes or honourable mention.

Winners and Prizes
Winners of the contest and those who receive honourable mention will have their photos posted online. Winning photographers will also be awarded with special City of Toronto prizes. The City of Toronto may use the winning photos and photos receiving an honourable mention in its print and electronic materials.

- Judges will select a first place (best overall), second place, third place and fourth place photo for each of the contest categories. These photos will be the winning entries.
- If fewer than 10 eligible photos are entered in a category, the City of Toronto may choose to select only a first place winner or may cancel that category.
- In addition, one or more honourable mention may be selected in each category, at the discretion of the panel of judges.

Entries will be evaluated based on content, image quality, creativity, uniqueness, relevance to the contest theme and category and overall visual appeal. A panel of three people will judge the entries and all judges’ decisions are final. Winners will be announced in July 2009
