Sunrise/sunset in Toronto

Hello,

One morning in early 2007 the sun looked so big (and pink) I regretted not having my camera with me. However, until today I have not seen such a big sun yet. Does anybody know what times of the year the sun looks much bigger than usual in Toronto?

Any feedback will be much appreciated :)

I think there's a tendency (anywhere) for the sun or moon to appear bigger when it's low in the sky right near the horizon. Apparently this results from the way we perceive the sky. A bit here, and more than you ever wanted to know here. This stuff is mainly about the moon, but the same is true of the sun, at least when it's filtered enough (by haze, pollution, whatever) to actually be seen, as it sometimes is at sunrise or sunset.
