A friend of mine is having a photography event where a small group of us are submitting framed pics for a silent auction. All the money goes to the Heart and Stroke foundation and it's a nice night out. |

There are some great deals on frames available at certain Discount and Dollar stores. If you live near a 10 Below store they get closeouts on frames from the US which normally sell for much higher retails. Likewise some of the "Buck or Two" stores carry frames from a supplier who specializes in bringing in higher end frames from US overstocks. You won't find $50 frames but you can find frames that would retail for 10-20 bucks at a fraction of the price.

I buy archival mats in bulk at Woolfitt's on Queen W. and then have Cheryl (I think!) at Akau cut them for me. ($5/board the last time I was there. She has a fantastic, automated mat cutter, so it's quick and easy.) As for the frame, Woolfitt's carries those as well, but you can find reasonable frames at many places - it all depends what you want! |
