Hi Everyone - new thread. Available light.

Thanks for the invitation to help moderate the pool. I'm kind of new to this so let me know if I'm getting it wrong.
How about having regular threads on specific topics where we can give each other feedback? I'll give it a go by starting looking at Black/White with available light (i.e. no flash) - usually a great combination. Post any images here (medium or small please) and let's give each other some constructive (and polite ) feedback.
Regards
Steve

A long exposure here ..2 seconds. Just using the light available from a couple of table lamps.

looks quite sharp for a 2 second exposure steveroe! I guess she didn't move an inch.. the only complaint would be that you can see the circle of light in her left leg, but other than that lighting looks good.
here's mine, very little available light from a lamp behind the subject...

I use a point and shoot right now, a Canon S2 1S. I was inside a 200 year old building where lighting is minimal. I did not use flash.
