Nikon f4 battery leakage

I just bought a Nikon f4 from ebay but it has some battery leakage in the mb 20 and it doesn't let the camera work well. Do you know of some good tips to clean this but something that does not make any more damage to the equipment?

Leakage from batteries is typically potassium hydroxide, a strong base. Get some gloves, cotton swabs, isopropyl alcohol and distilled vinegar. Lightly swab the crust with the vinegar. Let it sit for a little bit before removing with a swab that you've dabbed in the alcohol.
