I've noticed recently that none of the photos I post for the River Tweed are accepted. This is in spite of me including the tag for the River. Strange!?

I've got some catching up to do after a week away. As you know the theme of the pool links British rivers in their geographical settings with the unique set of words, often ancient words, that are the names of British rivers.

Before I started monitoring additions, the pool was attracting a fair number of photos nothing to do with Britain - dramatic gorges, huge deltas, &c.; my suspicions were often raised because the water in them was just too blue, unlike British rivers which tend to be a muddy green colour.

Typically, such "alien" images had been added to large numbers of different groups in addition to this one, and I got the impression it was because "River" is in the group title. Initally, I just weeded out such images. The group is not for unnamed British rivers, so it was easier to monitor entries as they arrive rather than check through the submissions afterwards, whenever I have some free time.

I understand your frustration. It must be extremely annoying when some folk flaunt the group rules. Thanks for the explanation,

Once again, I've had a clearly-named photo of a British River (Deptford Creek) rejected by the River Names of Britain group, so I'm not going to waste my time any longer with this group, and hence, I'm leaving.

An inlet from the sea such as a creek seems to fall outside the definition of a river. I stand to be corrected, but when I checked Google Maps it seemed that the river name was the Ravensbourne. Is this correct?

It's not an inlet from the sea, but rather the tidal section of the River Ravensbourne, before it flows into the Thames. This section of the river is known as Deptford Creek.
