US President Joe Biden has pledged that he will not back out from run November Presidential polls race. This comes after the Democrats have privately advised him to back out following his poor performance in the June 27 presidential debate. Despite facing huge criticism, Biden remains firm and has informed Democrats through a letter that he will contest the election.

Biden stated, “If I did not have complete trust that I could beat Donald Trump, I would not be contesting for the US President post again. I am determined to continue in the race and to run this race to the end, and to beat Donald Trump.”

In the letter, Biden pointed out that there are only 119 days remaining for the general elections and 42 days for the Democratic convention. He also appealed to his party members to stay united and to work together, only then they will be able to win over Trump. “It’s high to unite and work as a team, as any kind of waning of determination will confusion in the task will benefit Trump and harm us,” Biden explained.

The letter was written in response to a conference call with House Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries. During the telephone conversation, four congressmen raised their doubts about Biden’s candidature and they want him to put down his paper. The letter also raised the issue that some of the wealthy donors are also thinking that Biden should quit. Hollywood actor Rob Reiner who is regularly donating to Democratic candidates is also against Biden’s bid for the top post. He believes that if Trump wins, democracy will lose.

On the contrary, some of Biden’s ardent followers are backing him for the presidency and arguing that there is no other way to beat Trump.
