Maruti Suzuki has revamped its warranty programs in a move that significantly bolsters customer confidence and peace of mind. Effective for all vehicles delivered on and after 9 July 2024, the company has introduced a wider set of warranty packages, offering increased coverage and extended timelines.

Maruti Suzuki Standard Warranty

Previously, Maruti Suzuki offered a standard warranty of 2 years or 40,000 kilometres, whichever came first. This provided a safety net for essential components like the engine, transmission, electricals, and AC, but only for a limited period. Recognizing the need for more comprehensive coverage, the Indo-Japanese carmaker has generously extended the standard warranty to 3 years or 100,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

This translates to double the distance covered under warranty, effectively reducing ownership costs and offering greater peace of mind to new Maruti car owners. It’s important to note that consumables like brake pads, clutch plates, and wiper blades are excluded from the standard warranty coverage.

Maruti Suzuki Extended Warranty

While the enhanced standard warranty is a welcome change, Maruti Suzuki understands that some drivers may require even more extensive coverage. To cater to these needs, the company has introduced a renewed extended warranty program with three distinct packages: Platinum, Royal Platinum, and Solitaire.

Provisions for the three extended warranty packages are mentioned below:

  1. Platinum: This package extends the warranty to 4 years or 120,000 kilometres.
  2. Royal Platinum: This option offers extended warranty coverage for 5 years or 140,000 kilometres.
  3. Solitaire: For ultimate peace of mind, the Solitaire package extends the warranty to a maximum of 6 years or 160,000 kilometres.

These extended warranty packages go beyond the standard warranty’s coverage of core components. They encompass a wider range of parts, including 11 high-value items that were previously only covered under the standard warranty’s duration. This expanded coverage ensures that a wider range of potential repairs are covered under the extended warranty, further reducing the financial burden on car owners in case of unforeseen malfunctions.

Maruti Suzuki’s revamped warranty programs offer significant advantages to customers. The extended standard warranty provides greater peace of mind during the initial ownership period. The flexible extended warranty packages allow customers to tailor coverage to their specific needs and driving habits.
