We uncover, report on and publish documents obtained by public records laws, whistleblowers and litigation that expose corporate wrongdoing or government failures that threaten our health, our environment and our food system. Our work has contributed to multiple New York Times investigations, 13 academic studies, over a dozen articles in the BMJ, one of the world’s leading medical journals, and global media coverage documenting how food, chemical and biotech corporations work to protect their profits at the expense of public health and the environment.

U.S. Right to Know is the 2021 recipient of the James Madison Freedom of Information Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, NorCal Chapter, for our investigations of the pesticide and food industries. We were also the first group to bring to light important internal academic communications regarding the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic.
