World No. 1 Iga Swiatek dropped only one game in her 68-minute Poland Open final win over Laura Siegemund. It was the fourth title of the season for Swiatek, and the 15th of her career. Siegemund will make a big jump in the world rankings after her final run in Poland. Both Swiatek and her beaten opponent had to overcome a backlog of matches after adverse weather during the event.

'It means a lot' - Delight for Swiatek after winning Warsaw Open

Iga Swiatek claimed victory in her home event with a straight-sets demolition of Laura Siegemund in the Poland Open final.
It was a busy day for the Polish world No. 1, as she had to complete her semi-final as well.
She had no trouble in wrapping up a 6-1 7-6(6) win over Yanina Wickmayer in the last four, after the match had been suspended on Saturday night due to darkness.
It was a similar story of Swiatek domination in the final, as she completed a 6-0 6-1 win over Siegemund in 68 minutes.
Victory gave Swiatek her fourth title of 2023, and the 15th of her career.
Swiatek was totally dominant on home soil, not dropping a set in the tournament.
"I want to thank my team and my family," Swiatek said. "It's not easy to play in Warsaw, but I'm so happy that we could manage and do everything we could today, after a pretty tiring day yesterday.
"I wanted to put it all in and go for it. I'm pretty happy that I did."
Siegemund's run to the final will see her rise some way from 153 in the world, and Swiatek was full of praise for her beaten opponent.
"Laura, what you did yesterday was pretty surreal [winning her quarter- and semi-final matches on the same day, both going to three sets]. I don't know if anyone would be able to survive that, but you did," she said.
"Congratulations for this run, because it's been a pretty great week, and it's nice that we could play this final."
