"The fans go wild!"

Of all the things we were expecting to hear about the PlayStation 2, discovering that some people's machines overheat and crash due to faulty fans was not one of them. The PlayStation 2 in Japan was notorious for overheating, crashing DVDs mid-showing and the like, and there is noticeably more ventilation on the UK unit, especially at the front.
