Eminem and Jelly Roll sang a duet to Eminem's hit song, "Lose Yourself."
The collaboration we didn't know we needed! Eminem wowed crowds in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday night, performing an impressive set at the Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central.
And while the massive audience at the outdoor venue were thrilled to see their hometown hero perform his new song, "Houdini," the big surprise of the night was when country singer Jelly Roll joined Eminem on stage to sing several verses of Eminem's hit song, "Lose Yourself."
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, co-executive produced the show with his manager, Paul Rosenberg. Performing with Eminem wasn't the only time Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, took the stage during the show. He also performed with Melissa Etheridge and Fantasia Barrino, belting out Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock N Roll."
Other performers from the evening included Jack White and Big Sean. NBC will air an hour primetime special of the concert on Sunday, June 9 starting at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Jelly Roll has been enjoying a breakout couple of years, scoring a clean sweep at the 2024 CMT Music Awards for the second year in a row. He also had an emotional reaction to his 2024 ACM Awards win for his song, "Save Me."
"It saved me," he told ET of the meaningful single he shares with Lainey Wilson. "'Save Me' was really the beginning of me finding my real voice and it was kind of me stepping out of my shell and being comfortable and just being open and vulnerable."
He added, "I always wrote vulnerable music but never to that degree and it just changed my whole life. You've got to remember, I dropped 'Save Me' in the middle of 2020, it was a really dark time, and people connected with it and I get thousands of messages about how much that song has helped people. This song meant so much to me."
During his acceptance speech, Jelly Roll got candid about his troubled past.
"I thought I would die or go to jail and I'm standing here as an ACM Award winner," he said as the camera flashed to his wife, Bunnie XO, in the audience clapping and nodding. The Whitsitt Chapel artist previously served time behind bars before turning his life around through music.
NBC will air a one-hour primetime special of Live From Detroit: The Concert on Sunday, June 9 starting at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
