6 August, 2024 | International Experts’ Workshop: Heat Pumps as Renewable Heat Sources
Location: Shanghai
As a highly energy-efficient heating technology, heat pump systems play an important role in the low-carbon transition of the heating sector. At present, countries around the world, including Germany have classified heat from heat pumps as renewable heat sources, and support the purchase and installation of heat pump systems to promote their utilisation. In China, heat pumps have however not yet been included as a renewable heat source, which hinders the promotion and wide-scale use of heat pumps. Currently, China plans to update its renewable energy law, so the Energy Partnership organises an expert workshop together with the China Heat Pump Alliance (CHPA) to share the German experience in defining heat pumps as a renewable heat source to provide information on how the utilisation of heat pump system can be supported in China. For more information, please contact Ms. Yuan Zhen (zhen.yuan(at)giz.de).
8 August, 2024 | Workshop: Climate-friendly Refrigerants in Heat Pump Systems
Location: Shanghai
In 2024, the EU revised its F-gas regulation, establishing a timeline for phasing out fluorinated refrigerants in air conditioning and heat pump systems of varying capacities. This revision implies that the refrigerants prevalent in heat pump systems at present will soon be prohibited for products sold in the European market. In this context, the Energy Partnership plans to organise a side event with China Heat Pump Alliance (CHPA) on the annual meeting of the heat pump industry in China. During the workshop, the energy partnership will introduce the latest EU and German regulations on fluorine-containing refrigerants, discuss the impact of these regulations on heat pump systems with Chinese and German heat pump enterprises and industry experts, and promote the adoption of climate-friendly refrigerants in heat pump systems in China. For more information, please contact Ms. Yuan Zhen (zhen.yuan(at)giz.de).
