Amid a rise in Taylor Swift hate (Charli XCX was recently forced to release a statement demanding that her fans stop chanting 'Taylor Swift is dead' at her gigs), yet another female musician has had to jump to the Queen of Pop's defence. This time, it was in the form of one of Swift's former collaborators and the newest member of the Swift squad, Ice Spice.

While performing at Rolling Loud festival at the weekend in Vienna, Ice Spice hit back at the audience when they began booing when 'Karma' started playing. The moment, which was filmed by members of the audience promptly went viral, before Ice Spice blew kisses to the crowd as they held up thumbs down gestures to her.

Ice Spice friendship with the star blossomed when the pair collaborated in 2023 on a remix of Swift's 2022 single 'Karma.' At the time, Swift gushed about how great it was working with Ice Spice. She said in a statement at the time, 'Collaborating with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things. She reached out through her team, just kind of saying, "Hey, Ice has been a big fan of Taylor's since she was a little kid, would love to collaborate if that was ever something that came about."'

They have remained close friends since, with Ice Spice accompanying Swift to attend the 2024 Super Bowl in February alongside long-term member of the Swift squad, Blake Lively. Ice Spice was also invited to perform the re-mix of 'Karma' with Swift in one of the New Jersey concerts of the Eras tour in May 2024.
