If you’ve developed an obsession for the American TV series Euphoria, then you are not alone. Not only does it have an impressive cast, such as Disney graduate, Zendaya, and Calvin Klein model, Jacob Elordi, but it also deals with important issues that young people might be facing in the scary world of 2019. Despite the perched-on-the-edge-of-your-seat plotline, what has drawn most people’s attention is the incredible beauty looks.

There isn't one scene which doesn’t involve either a bold neon eyeshadow or some artfully applied diamanté crystals, and frankly, we’re not complaining. Taking the lead with the most enviable hair and make-up looks is Maddy played by actress Alexa Demie.

But it's not just Demie’s character Maddy who knows a thing or two about beauty. In fact, the 24-year-old learnt everything she knows from her mother, once a make-up artist at MAC. After much demand, Demie recently took to Twitter to showcase some of the throwback beauty references she took to the make-up chair on set and to say they’re aesthetically pleasing would be an understatement.

‘I love looking at old 90’s, 70’s, 60’s editorial shoots for my references’ she told Vogue in a YouTube tutorial. The actress added that Cher’s iconic looks are always a huge inspiration to her and we can see the resemblance. Our favourite inspo pic? A classic image of Nina Simone with bejewelled eyebrows.

Using her own love of beauty to add an extra aspect to her on screen alter ego, Demie's eye make-up designs for Maddy are always dramatic and eye catching, she knows who she is and what she likes, which pairs perfectly with her sassy personality.

The show's head make-up artist, Doniella Davy, created a new make-up look every time there was an outfit change, a lot of effort but more inspo for us. Davy took to her Instagram to explain the thoughts that went into creating each character’s ‘face’.

‘There’s more to Maddy’s make-up than rhinestones and cat-eyes! 🙀💎Underneath her elaborate armour, Maddy feels the pain of crushed childhood dreams and a psychotic and abusive boyfriend. I designed her make-up to have a fantastical element to it because despite her fierce outward personality, Maddy is a diehard Romantic who wants to transcend the “loveless marriage” that is her home life.'

Make-up just got deep people.
