Widening the post-apocalyptic universe of filmmakers Michael Sanoski and John Kransinski’s A Quiet Place film franchise, Paramount Pictures has launched the highly anticipated spin-off prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, which hit theaters on June 28th.

The sci-fi horror thriller depicts the origin story of “the day the world went quiet,” launching the silent world in which fans first met Krasinski and Emily Blunt as parents struggling to protect their children from blind aliens with ultrasonic hearing. Starring Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) as Sam, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Eric, Alex Wolff (Oppenheimer) as Reuben, and the returning Djimon Hounsou as Henri (A Quiet Place: Part II), Day One depicts the alien invasion’s first survivors navigating the aliens’ initial descent upon New York City.
