A Peer Facilitator is a volunteer who has epilepsy and helps lead a mental wellness program with the main facilitator, usually the Mental Wellness Program Coordinator. Their job is to share their own experiences living with epilepsy, connect with the group members, and be there to listen to them.

  • As a Peer, you can gain valuable experience which can useful in  developing  new skills or enhance existing ones.
  • Being a Peer Facilitator will provide a unique sense of fulfillment and satisfaction by giving back to your community.
  • Being a Peer Facilitator can lead to personal growth by challenging yourself, building confidence, and gaining new perspectives.
  • As a Peer Facilitator, you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others and contribute to meaningful causes or organizations.

The training you get for the Mental Wellness program depends on which program the Mental Wellness Program Coordinator assigns you to. You’ll do all the training sessions over Zoom before you begin leading a program alongside the main facilitator.
