An Edinburgh woman was robbed of her phone after being pushed from behind on a busy street during the early hours.

The 46-year-old was left "badly shaken" after being approached by the man on Dalry Road at around 1.30am on Thursday, June 6, who proceeded to push her and steal her phone.

The woman did not require hospital treatment and Police Scotland is now investigating the robbery with anyone who witnessed the incident urged to assist the force with its inquiries.

Detective Constable William Doughty of Corstorphine Police Station said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the person responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this robbery or who has information that may assist us to contact 101 quoting incident number 209 of 6 June. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
