An Australian nurse and Taylor Swift superfan is travelling over 10,000 miles for the Eras Tour here in Edinburgh.

Ellie Peach has been hunting for tickets to the sell-out gigs for months, before she was offered a ticket to go with someone who she met online. She said they "don't seem like a murderer", and is willing to take the risk - and the 24-hour flight - to find out.

Taylor Swift is coming to Edinburgh for three dates in June, with tickets in high demand. Many have paid well into the hundreds for a space at the gigs, though few are making quite as much of a journey as Ellie is.

On May 12, she posted a clip saying: "Guys, I think I'm gonna fly to Edinburgh and go to the Eras Tour.

"I think I'm gonna do it. Someone has offered me a ticket to go with them, someone from the internet who doesn't seem like a murderer.

"I mean they could be? But I had other people as well offer me tickets. I think I'm gonna go, I'm serious. I have to see that live, and I'm working full time. If it puts me in financial ruin, so be it.

"This is one of the crazier things I've ever done. I can't tell my family because they'll think I'm irresponsible with money.

"Maybe I am, but I will have gone to the Eras Tour. And, I've never been to Edinburgh so I'll tick that off my list as well.

"I've just got to get three shifts covered at work, and I'll say to my boss that I won tickets. I'll go to him with a solution, and beg and then maybe cry."

Ellie updated her followers only a few days later, confirming that she was now all set to travel over: "I'm on a study day at work today, I spoke to my boss.

"I came with all the shift swaps sorted, I said I've checked and it's all sorted. At first he wasn't happy, and I said 'what if I do overtime after this study day?

"Then all my shifts were swapped and approved. I'm so excited."

Ellie then shows herself booking flights to Scotland. She continues: "I'm going to Edinburgh in a months time!"

Surprisingly, her followers didn't seem too concerned about Ellie's bold plans - and were quick to comment with excitement. Tahn posted: "Omg do it!

"Edinburgh is a stunning city, you'll have no regrets! I'm an Aussie living over here and I'm going on night one in Edinburgh."

Alicia Miles added: "I feel like it's well worth the risk. Financial ruin is just temporary, the Eras Tour memories are forever."

Laz commented: "Big yes, always. You deserve it! Go enjoy, you work so hard and are faced with trauma every day."

Ella said: "Do it! You only live once. We're only single with no children and no responsibility for a short time. You'll have no regrets."

Taylor Swift is heading to Edinburgh on June 7, 8 and 9. With less than a month until the pop sensation kicks off the UK leg of her tour in Edinburgh on 7 June, there are still limited tickets available at the sites below - but they come with a hefty price tag.

Securing tickets has proven to be a challenge for many Swifties, but Ticketmaster is currently showing 'low availability' for shows in the capital cities of England, Scotland, and Wales, and 'limited availability' for the Liverpool gigs. However, bear in mind that any official resale tickets are likely to be snapped up quickly.

If you're unsuccessful on Ticketmaster, it might be worth checking out secondary ticket resale platforms such as viagogo and VividSeats, which currently have tour tickets listed. But be prepared for sky-high prices, with tickets on viagogo listed for as much as £5,663 for her penultimate UK show, and a staggering £6,452 each for her final UK show on 17 August.

As of now, the most affordable resale tickets are listed for £220 each on viagogo, for her third and final night in Edinburgh, and £254 each on VividSeats, also for an Edinburgh show, according to Bristol Live.
