Weston Robert Gorman OBITUARY

Weston Robert Gorman, 90, of Aptos California passed away from too many birthdays as he would say and vascular dementia, on February 24th, 2024. Weston preferred to be called “Bob”. Bob was born in Oakland California in 1933, the oldest of three children, to the late Zelda and Wesley, “Rob” Gorman. Bob grew up in Orinda CA. He had a privileged upbringing, his family had cars, motorcycles, scooters, dogs, cats, and even a horse, named Pinoch, but you would never know it because he was always humble, kind, and considerate.He attended Armstrong business college in Berkeley California, where he met the love of his life. B.B., Barbara Byrd. They married at 19, and moved to Pacific Grove, CA. Where he served his country in the Army at Fort Ord in Monterey CA. Bob was not the fighting kind, so he was a cook at Fort Ord. Bob ran the family-owned furniture store, “J. Gorman and Son” established in 1880, until he retired in 1997. Once retired he and B.B. enjoyed R.V.ing around most of the United States and Canada. Bob was always very helpful and very generous, donating to many charities through the years. He was a mentor to his children, Steve, Larry, and Lori. Bob was a loving, caring, true gentleman who cherished his family and friends. He leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, who all admire him. He enjoyed bike riding, he made it all the way around Lake Tahoe in 1997, skiing, Nascar, he referred to as the “The Races”, cars, motorcycles, helping B.B around the house/yard, and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, in Lafayette CA. on July 8th, 2024, at 11am.
