Sandra Joan Goldberg OBITUARY

A woman whose life overflowed with love, adventure, and dedication, passed away on June 20th, 2024, at the age of 87, after a courageous battle with cancer.Born and raised in San Francisco by Isabel and Raymond Anixter with her brother and best friend Harrison. Sandy blossomed during her time at UC Berkeley, joining the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and forging lifelong friendships. There, she met her husband, Bud Goldberg, and in 1958, they began their journey together, building a family that would become her greatest joy. They welcomed sons, Clifford and Kenneth.From 1973 to 2019, Sandy nurtured young minds as an Oakland Elementary School teacher. Her passion for education shone brightly, particularly during her years teaching music and physical education. Even years later, former students remembered her fondly, a testament to her lasting impact.Sandy possessed an infectious zest for life. She embraced every opportunity for travel, exploring all seven continents. When not traversing the globe, she found solace in the beauty of the ocean and the camaraderie of the Temple choir. A true games enthusiast, she reveled in friendly competition, whether it was Mahjong, Wordle, or a classic puzzle.Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her children, Clifford and Kenneth (Angelique), her grandchildren, Nicole (Ron), Daniel (Sammi), Kellie (Will), Kenny (Amanda), and Zach, and her great-grandchildren, Layla, Kiela, Ariya, Abbie, Jacob, Jonah, and Myles.
