Linda Archibald Lemon OBITUARY

Linda was born in 1952, the 4th child of Erwin Archibald and Katherine Pesek Archibald. She passed away in 2024 in Colorado, with 2 of her sisters by her side. During the last decades of her life she lived embracing her “Dream Job”, creating diverse artwork from handmade paper, found materials and objects. She expressed her vision through encaustic, etching, painting, and felting. “Be a Magician, Make Art!” was one of her favorite mottos. Linda was an avid gardener, creating an incredible fairyland of fruit trees, flowers and art at her long time home in Oakland, Ca. She gave generously to all who knew her, inspiring and teaching others in a multitude of ways. Her art was exhibited and appreciated, and she really enjoyed teaching. Papermaking classes under the trees at Oakland’s Feather River Art Camp was an annual treat for her and her students. She sparked children’s creativity and art through East Bay school enrichment programs. Through her gift for doing “card readings” she shared her unique perspective of spirit with anyone who asked. Her only child, Timothy Jude Lemon, predeceased her by over 20 years. She bore the sorrow of that loss for the rest of her life. Her husband Michael C. Chervenak aka “G.P. Skratz” passed away in 2023. Her step daughter Katie Bybel died in 2020. She is survived by her step grandson Michael Bybel, and her siblings Amber, Philip, Kathy, Gelly and Trinity, who love her and miss her very much. Linda’s large circle of extended family, dear friends, and fellow artists feel great loss at her passing. Linda’s last cat companion Rocky, lives on happily in Colorado.A celebration of Linda’s life on the afternoon of Sunday Oct. 20 2024 is planned at the “Beach House” at Lake Temescal, Oakland, Ca.
