Douglas C. MacIntosh OBITUARY

A native of Alameda, Douglas passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief illness. A graduate of Alameda High, he enjoyed Boy Scouts as a youth, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout with palms, as well as being a member of the Order of the Arrow. He always loved the outdoors! Fishing, backpacking, camping, climbing mountains, and even walking throughout Alameda gave him great pleasure. He loved Nature and was a keen observer of unusual aspects of wildlife.A graduate of Oakland City College and Cal State, Hayward, he was a special education teacher in Oakland, followed by teaching positions in Jackson, Burney, and Susanville, CA.After moving back to Alameda, he became an active member of Twin Towers United Methodist Church.He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Betty MacIntosh, lifelong Alameda residents, and is survived by his sister Peggy M. ( Ron)Cecchettini, his nieces Heather C. (Shan) Daroczi and Amy Cecchettini, his grand nephew Marcus Daroczi, and grand niece Julia Daroczi.A Memorial service will be held for Douglas on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Twin Towers United Methodist Church at 11A.M.,reception following.
