A two-alarm vegetation fire broke out early Tuesday afternoon in South San Jose, growing to 25 acres before firefighters knocked it down, said the San Jose Fire Department.

The fire was under control as of 1:55 p.m. but firefighters continued to mop up, SJFD said on social media. There were no injuries and no structures burned.

The fire was reported to San Jose Fire at 12:21 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Bailey Avenue, said Jake Pisani, public information officer for SJFD. CalFire was involved and sent units to assist, Pisani added.

Santa Teresa Boulevard was closed in both directions between Bailey Avenue and Bayless Drive, he added. SJFD was working with the parks department to evacuate Santa Teresa County Park and all trails, Pisani said.

The fire had a medium rate of spread amid high fire danger caused by hot, dry weather, Pisani said shortly after 1 p.m.
