UPDATED:

EMERYVILLE — Police are looking for a woman who they said stabbed a man without provocation on Monday at a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

In a social media post, Emeryville police said officers were called to Chick-fil-A, located at 1525 40th Street, at about 2:35 p.m. after a report of a stabbing and were told that Oakland police already were there. But police said that when Emeryville police officers arrived, officers from Oakland had left, and the victim was gone.

Police said officers reviewed video of the incident that showed a woman walked by the victim and cut the victim’s neck with an unknown object. The stabbing caused only a minor physical injury, police said. Medics responded but the man turned down treatment, police said.

According to police, the woman last was seen going west on 40th Street. Police described her as white, about 6 feet tall with slicked-back brown hair and wearing a gray hoodie and sweats.

Police said they were working with Oakland police on the case and asked anyone with information to contact them at 510-596-3700.
