GroenLinks-PvdA by far the winner in the Dutch News poll

The GroenLinks-PvdA alliance was by far the biggest in the Dutch News EU election poll with D66 in second place.

In total, 44% of Dutch News readers said they would vote in favour of the left-wing green grouping, with 13.5% backing the Liberal Democrats of D66. The far right PVV took 9.5% of the Dutch News vote, while the VVD are on 8.5%.

Pan-European party Volt polled 8.2% and the pro-animal PvdD 5%.

In total, almost 40% of people in the Dutch News poll had voted in the Netherlands before, while 24% were first time voters.

Almost 30% said they were not eligible to vote, because they came from outside the EU, while 3.5% did not know they had to register to vote for the EU elections.

Dutch News is aware of a number of potential voters who were not aware they had to sign up with their local council to do so.
