The Music in the Mountains mobile stage will present three different professional ensembles on three successive days to launch the 38th season of the festival.

  • Thursday: The Wildwood Reed Trio will perform a mini concert at 11 a.m., 2 and 7 p.m. in Durango and Pagosa.
  • Friday: Denver’s Brass Quintet will perform in Mancos at 11 a.m., then twice in Durango at different locations at 2 and 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: The Kaia String Quartet will perform at 11 a.m. in Bayfield, then at 2 p.m. in Ignacio and 6:30 p.m. in Durango.

The shows run about 45 minutes. In case of bad weather, the concerts will be canceled. Music lovers are invited to bring chairs, food and nonalcoholic beverages. For the first time, established ensembles will perform instead of festival musicians. No reservations are required.
