How do I sign up for the Try Before You Buy program?

Signing up is easy. Visit this page and select the Try Before You Buy option on the page. You'll need to proceed to checkout as a regular transaction and provide payment details for the authorization. Note: you will not be charged until after the trial period ends.

What happens after I order my 14-day trial?

Once you’ve signed up, we’ll ship a full-size Daily Microfoliant to your address. You can then start using the product right away!

Will I be charged during the trial period?

You will not be charged during the 14-day trial period, except for an $66 +tax authorization hold to ensure card validity. This amount is only a hold, not a charge, and it will be released if you decide not to keep the product.

What if I decide to keep the Daily Microfoliant?

No additional action is needed. After the 14-day trial ends, we'll process the charge for the cost of the full-size product to the payment method provided.

Are there any hidden fees or subscription commitments?

Try Before You Buy program is commitment-free with no hidden fees. The only potential charge is the $8 trial fee if you decide not to keep the Daily Microfoliant. If you decide to keep the Daily Microfoliant you will be charged for the cost of the product.

How do I return the product if I’m not satisfied?

To return, visit our returns page for further instructions. The product must be returned within the 14-day trial period to avoid the full product charge.

Can I try more than one product at a time?

Currently, the Try Before You Buy offer is limited to one Daily Microfoliant per customer.

When does my trial period start?

The trial period begins once your product has been delivered.

Why does Dermalogica place an authorization on my credit card?

Similar to a hotel or rental car company, we authorize your card to ensure you have the funds available. When you checkout, an authorization for the full amount of your order is placed on your card to reserve funds if you choose to keep your items. An authorization is not the same as a charge in that our systems are strictly ensuring that the card that was provided at checkout is both valid and has the appropriate funds available to cover the cost of any items kept in the future.

I thought Dermalogica offered a free trial but I see a charge on my card -- can you help me understand?

We will not charge you until the end of your trial. We do place an authorization on your card for the total amount of your order. This is how we ensure that funds can be captured for items you keep -- it’s just like a hold that hotels or rideshare apps use, and it helps protect against fraud. The way authorizations display on your statement varies by bank. Typically, authorizations are labeled as “pending” or they will not have a date associated with the charge, indicating that the charge has not yet been posted.

When will the authorization come off of my card?

We will charge and close your order after your trial + several days for any returns to process. At that point, the authorization will drop and you’ll be charged for the items you kept. Depending on your bank, it can take up to 24-48 hours for your statement to update.

Can I change my shipping address?

Due to our fulfillment and ordering process, shipping cannot be changed once the order has been placed. If you need further assistance, please email: websiteorders@dermalogica.com.

How can I track the status of my order?

When we have shipped your order, we will send you an email with shipping details and a tracking number so you can track your order directly from the link in your email.

What if I decide to return the Daily Microfoliant?

If you decide the Daily Microfoliant isn't for you, initiate a return here within the 14-day trial period. Once the product is returned, you will be charged the $8 trial fee.

Try Before You Buy Terms of Sale:
You may purchase certain products using our “Try Before You Buy” option as made available by and through the Site. By placing a Try Before You Buy order, you allow us to pre-authorize your Payment Method immediately for the full price of the product selected. Any products for which you do not initiate a return from our returns portal locatedhere during the fourteen (14) days after the date of delivery provided by the carrier (such time period, the “Trial Period”). You acknowledge and agree that Dermalogica may keep your credit card on file for the Trial Period and does not need to obtain any additional authorization from you to charge for products not returned during the Trial Period. Products purchased after the Trial Period are not eligible for a refund. Your Payment Method may be subject to preauthorization, a temporary hold, for the full purchase price of your Try Before You Buy order, which may reduce the available balance or credit limit of your Payment Method for the duration of the temporary hold.
