Aurora police arrested a man suspected in a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning in Aurora.
C Vontae Smith, 22, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of first-degree murder, Aurora police spokesman Matthew Longshore said.
Officers responded about 3:30 a.m. to a shooting in the 300 block of South Salem Street where they found a man lying outside with an apparent gunshot wound, according to an Aurora Police Department news release.

The man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the man as 25-year-old Robert Junior Cain. The coroner’s release stated the manner of death was homicide.
