Brendan Bialy gave a news conference on Wednesday, April 8, 2019, one day after he and two other students rushed and disarmed a shooter at STEM School Highlands Ranch. Bialy says doesn’t want to be remembered for his heroic actions but wants the public to remember Kendrick Castillo, his good friend he has known since 8th grade, who died when he lunged at the shooter, enabling students to have time to hide, thereby saving their lives.
